Something about the glued hostel, went tour issue on the AB's so I could get the specs I wanted, loved the 915s, but they looked closed to me (I'm sure they where not) - the Tour head 3w looks like an old 906f. 3w also has 12g of hotmelt in it, probably the best feeling and sounding club Ive ever owned. Both the ABTP and 915 FD have some serious ball speed - still not a huge fan of the white ]

What killed the ABTP dream for you?

Back to the Speeder VC 8.1 in the driver @ 44.5" - with the SFTP LCG lurking always for an opening

Scored a Tour Bettinardi BB0, been wanting a BBO or 009 for a while, much to the chagrin of the wife there is one in the bag now. Compared to market prices, I believe I got a good deal.

Little update, what I've got so far is in the signature below. Giving a full Titleist bag a shot this year, which is quite a departure for me. Coming from mostly Taylormade woods and Mizuno irons for the last couple years. Have a lot time using Vokey's since the original spin milled. Driver is up in the air but minimum 13 clubs will be Titleist. Looking forward to testing out the T-MB's, pretty much know what to expect from the MB's. Have the AMT X100 in the irons now but have KBS Tour V 130's waiting as well.

 

Saw the full SM6 line in person back in August and will be getting 50F, 56M and 60L. Also T-MB 2 iron is coming, haven't decided on a shaft yet.

Yes.

 

Look familiar? Have to give credit that your write up helped put me over the edge. I did some adjustments with lofts, going 46-22 with 4 degree spacing in the Pw through 4 iron. Then straight to the 17* 2 iron, frees up a spot for another wedge, will see if it works out.

 

AMT and V130 are two different animals, I will be interested to see what route you take.

 

Plan is to try out the AMT's first because they come stock. Have a feeling that light a shaft in the long irons will mess with feel/dispersion but I'd wouldn't mind being proven wrong.

You don't want to see that putter, it's a gamer. It's a studio style I got 10 years ago, 34" and iomic standard grip. Original paint fill has almost all fallen out. Never owned another putter, been through about 100 drivers though.

I've got the SM6's on preorder so they should be here any day now. Top end of the bag is working out well though. Made some adjustments to my swing over the winter and I'm hitting the irons a little longer so I think 3 wedges is going to be very beneficial. Big point of interest that I'm working on with my swing coach is controlling distance and trajectory from 150 and in, full and partial shots. Should help a lot but I'm going to do an update once I get everything in.

 

Looking forward to hearing how the TPI fitting goes.

Didn't want to wait until they released the raw SM6's. Also didn't want to pay more for them to leave the finish off, wasn't too hard to remove it. :rolleyes:

More full-ish shots with the GW is the plan, and won't be using it much around the greens. Just an experiment to start.

Got the LTD out today. Sound and feel are top notch, shaft needs an upgrade before I can really judge it but it has a lot of potential.

I let them sit in white vinegar for about an hour then used and scotch brite pad to take off the finish. Not too bad, really. Didn't have to take the heads off or remove paint fill, just let them sit for a good while in the vinegar and it should come off without too much trouble.

Man, those look amazing! I went the boring route with the silver, wishing I didn't now! I have been traveling for work so I have only got 9 holes in with the new set, but was -3 on that 9 :) I really did like what I saw with them on the course, the SM6's are very impressive. I will be playing 4 days in a row starting today, so I'll report back, only bad part its that none are at my home course so I won't have any feedback to compare to my baseline. Did you compare the King LTD Pro to the D3 or D4?

Hey bud, 18 holes on it so far and all I can say is it looks/sounds/feels awesome. Other than that it seems to be low spin and pretty forgiving but I'll know more once I get a real shaft in it and get some more time on it.

 

You get out at all yet? We're supposed to get a decent storm on Sunday, bummer.

Something about the way that the grinds on the vokeys goes through the turf better for me than any other wedge. I was playing around with a D3 8.5* w/D+ 70 last fall a little bit but I have not hit the D4 yet. I would still like to try it but it's not easy to find one, may just have to bite the bullet and go the TPI route. I'm thinking even if I end up liking a non-Titleist head better I'll still find out what shaft I want.

I didn't really try to get any finish out of the grooves. It's not really noticeable to me, I attached a face shot and also an outdoor lighted group shot I had some requests.

I got out with Sean last Sunday at his course in Rockland. Very windy but still managed to shoot a funky 77. Still not able to putt. After 1 round with a steel driver shaft, the 850 looks more promising.

Not sure on the shaft yet. It launches fairly low so probably not something super stout. Still playing with the loft but I hit some really nice drives today, in the ballpark of a well stuck 850. It does seem a lot more forgiving though, we will see.

Played S2, S3, S4, X1 and X7 in wedges. X100 was bad and X7 was a disaster in the lob wedge, no feel on partial shots and loss of spin and feel around the greens. Excellent for controlling trajectory on full shots with the lower lofted wedges though. I much prefer S400 in anything that I'll be using around the greens and inside 100 yards. Only going X100 to start in the 50* because I'm really not using it for any short game shots. Also still have an extra X7 wedge shaft I might end up using in the 50* too.
