I happened to walk into the range/pro shop when the TE rep was there with the 2014 lineup and was able to hit the CB Pro 3W 14.5* Speeder 661 and the XCG7 Beta 19* utility with the 7m3.1 S. The turf at this range has sticky black soil and it sticks to my irons and wedges so bad that it always irritates me when I leave there. After 15-20 swings with the 3W, even hitting a couple fat, I didn't pick up anything in the grooves in the sole. I guess if someone was hitting off of bare, sticky, yellow clay or something maybe it would stick in there, but I don't see how it could under normal golf course conditions.

I currently have the CB5 Fubuki in the bag and the CB Pro seemed easier and more consistent off the deck for me, even though I have been more than pleased with the CB5: it's best 3W I have ever played. But side by side that day I hit the CB Pro better. Off the tee it was a wash probably. The CB5 is more dense feeling which I prefer overall but the Pro was definitely long and easy to hit. The looks....well I don't hate it but I don't love it either. Was VERY low spin judging by ball flight, hit some straight up knuckle balls off the deck with range rocks, but can't imagine it would be like that with regular tour balls. And I am usually pretty high spin on most clubs. I enjoyed hitting it, but I don't think I will be replacing my CB5 with one at this juncture.

What I was really impressed with was the XCG7 Beta 19*. I am a staunch JDM player and everything in my bag has been JDM for some time until the CB5 made its way into my clutches. I couldn't believe how easy to hit, and how incredible the hybrid felt at impact. Strong penetrating flight but soft enough to hold greens. Have a very expensive forged titanium 18* that I ordered a TEE replacement for today with the 7M3.1 X in it. Absolute cannon. The range and pro shop I frequent has a very extensive array of demo clubs and I always try them all to keep my JDM stuff honest. They even have a pretty good selection of JDM equipment as well. But of all those clubs I have tried and given a fair shot, the only ones that have knocked it out is TEE products. And, by comparison, they seem cheap. :D

^ thanks for the review of the utility. I have a TEE 2* hybrid that gets in my bag every once in awhile. Looking to get a 3 or 4 that I can use more often.

On another note - I have been driving myself crazy trying to find a post where someone mentioned the model of TEE woods that last had beta or ti cup faces. Was going to cruise the bay to maybe find a 3,5,7 wood...

Got to hit the beta driver and cb pro fairway today at a demo day. These are the real deal but pricey. The driver was shafted with black tie and 757 speeder in the 14.5 fairway. Fairway was easy to launch from the tight grass driving range. Looked gorgeous at address and the sole worked despite its strange appearance.

I think they all do. Like all the CB and XCG woods have Ti faces and crowns.

Any updates on the CB PRO FW release date yet? Earlier in this thread it is stated NOV 1, but it is NOV 3 and I haven't seen any info anywhere on the CB PRO FW being for sale.
I ordered the CB pro fairways, 13.5+ is also an option. special order only.
Bought and tested the XCG7 Beta driver....four of played it on course and no one was blown away by it. Looked great sounded great, felt ok, very close to the G25 feel. Distance was average or behind everyone's gamer, D2, Ping 25, RBZ tour....everyone hit what they had better and further. Adjusted loft settings made a difference but not enough to keep it---30 day no questions asked return to TEE. Funny thing is the CB pro I ordered costs $100 more than the damn driver.

TEE's current CB5 has a SP700 Beta Ti cup face, CB2, CB3, and CB4 were 15-3-3-3 Beta Ti. I have an original 15* TEE CB that's sitting in the closet and I believe that was 15-3-3-3 as well.

That's disappointing to hear. I love my XCG6 & was hoping a shorter shafted, lower spin head would be even straighter & just as long. What loft do you normally play & what did you try with the XCG7?

I know, sweet shafts no doubt but dang big bucks for one fairway wood. I guess if you ordered a Ping lets say with this shaft it would probably be close but your re-sale would be far more secure...BB

I'm very intrigued by this design, in a sea of recycled concepts this actually strikes me as a true skunkworks, that gets my money 100%...BB

I got to see and demo this club and the beta driver several weeks ago. They were both very good and the fairway is the real deal in terms of looks At address and ease of hitting off the deck. Tour edge has a $20 off deal if you buy at the demo day but that seems too small for the $500 sicker price.

Checked in with my guys today and the price is truly kinda brutal which is a little dissapointing...BB

Yea, there will probabaly be even less of these for sale used than normal with TEE stuff.

Yeah, I really don't get this price. I'm a TEE fan. I love the CB4 enough that I have a 13, a 15, and a 16.5 so I can switch out and/or carry 2, depending on the course. But I cannot imagine these moving very well at that price.

Looks cool, though.

I'm about 99% positive it isn't supposed to be a big seller.

It's a unique conversation piece and attention getter in a world full of constant bland equipment releases. A club that shows what a company not driven by sales hype and Wall Street can create when cost isn't an issue.

They will sell a few, and they most likely will be fantastic performers. And that's ok.

Still about $400 chaper than some of the TP drivers that come out. As mentioned above, it was never designed to fly off the shelves at that price point, but there will be people who shell out the cash, and I'm sure the club will perform.

The fairway is sick, but $500! Cmon Tour Edge...OMG!! This would have been a huge seller if it was in the $300 price range.
Not meant to be huge seller. Production costs are high. At this price point there are sufficient buyers to justify production. It is a niche market product and it performs as advertised.
