Just call me old fashioned, but I've never seen a "cool" tattoo on anyone. :-)
Yep, I'm kinda old school, too. My daughter has 'body art,' but I view the term "cool tattoo" as an oxymoron ... Sort of like jumbo shrimp. Personally, I don't get it. Even so, it makes no difference to me if anyone else makes that decision. It's a little like friends who can't, won't, don't understand this sick, twisted addiction called golf. To each his own.

Have an appointment Saturday for a quarter sleeve. Will post pics after.

I do have a question for those who can help- am I good to play Sunday morning?
Probably not, I usually take a week or so off after getting tattooed. You have to figure, you basically have an open wound until it heals, so you really don't want to be sweating all over it and agitating it too much. And no exposure to sun. I'd just take some down time. A small covered tattoo you might be able to play with, not sure how big yours will be, but I wouldn't plan on playing

Yeah that's what I knew. Just hard to convince myself of it. Buddy in from out of town and I have only played once in over a month has me not wanting to accept that I shouldn't play.

I'll play devils advocate on that, with the tattoo being only one day old I'd throw some A and D or unscented lotion on there and hit the course. You don't have to worry about anything being scabbed yet, it'll still be fresh enough where it isn't sealed up and the burn/irritation from you getting it done will be on it's way out if not fully gone. Wash thoroughly before and after your round, if you go with the a and d do a thin layer just to keep it moist, take the ointment or lotion with you if you need to reapply from your shirt rubbing on it but you should be fine. If you're really worried about it rubbing have your wife wrap you up in saran wrap before you leave and take it off right when you're off the course, 4,5,6 hours of it covered is fine but don't leave it on all day. I used to play hockey the day of getting tattooed, did it after doing my stomach, arm, chest, ribs, and some on my legs so I think you'll be totally fine I golf a day or two after getting tattooed multiple times a season with no issues unless you're getting your hands tattooed then I'd take a break. It would burn occasionally if it rubbed on hockey equipment but with golf you don't have to worry about that just make sure your sleeve is long enough to cover it from the sun until its fully healed. Once it is healed SPF 50 or higher to keep it vibrant for as long as possible color or black and grey sun will fade them prematurely.

I have a few.. But this particular one is my favorite as it is of St. Michael. My middle name is Michael after my grandfather who has been a major influence on me in my life. My father has been an amazing dad and wonderful influence, but for whatever reason, my grandfather has showed me my greatest passions in life: Humor, patience, power lifting, and golf (which sometimes I'm not as thankful for.)

He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and died 3 times on the operating table, was revived, put on life support, and when our family said our goodbyes and they were set to pull the plug, I got a phone call that night, expecting to hear that he had passed, and was told he snapped out of it and grabbed the doctor by throat while they were doing a final examination. He's still got life by the balls a few years later to this day, so I chose to get a tattoo of the baddest (imo) angel for the strongest old man I'll ever know. Every time I see him he asks me what my bench press is, hows my putting (followed by 20 min of why hitting the ball far doesn't matter), and tells me not to take life too seriously.

(disregard the tank top) lol

Grew up for 22 years of my life with a twin brother till one day an accident took his life. Me and my buddy got a tattoo of the state of Nevada with Lake Tahoe and NORNEV448 on a trip to San Diego to celebrate his life and I've been adding since then. Last Sunday I was able to add to my upper arm to finish my half sleeve for him. As a friendly reminder, never take a single day for granted with the people you love. I remember vividly the night before he passed and wish I could say so much more if I knew what was going to happen.

I've got 8 tattoos. These are my favorite though. They're the only color tattoos I have. The red/yellow one is the family crest for my mothers family (Griffith, Welsh), and the blue one is my fathers (Hamel, French). They're on my calves. I got them both the same day, about 3 hours each.

Β

I ate a couple of tramadol before I went (pain killer for those who don't know). The first one sucked. We had about 1.5 hour break between the first and second one. When he started the second one, the pain killers had worn off, and for the next 3 hours it felt like he was grinding a lit cigar into my calf. I almost tapped out a few times.

Best thing I have seen so far............... Guy I work with is having marriage problems, they are trying to work it out, but she is a whore so I can tell you he is just delaying the inevitable. She likes tats and he likes reapers so he went and got one on his right shoulder. The tattoo guy not only did a bad job, but he tatted Skeletor on his shoulder, I mean Skeletor from He-Man, not a reaper it is hilarious!!!!!!! :taunt:
