Is the White Belt Dead?

Not giving up the white belt anytime soon. Still like the look with the right combo. However, fellas need to watch the white turning to "off white" over time. Get a new one...

I think white belts are appropriate with either white pants/shorts or a white shirt. Generally speaking i always try to match my belt to either my pants or my shirt. Reason being it elongates your silhouette and will make you appear taller/leaner because you are not drawing attention to your midsection. A white belt with dark pants/dark shirt immediately draws attention to your waist and breaks up your silhouette.

I'm running my adidas strap into the ground. Already glued it a few times where it has separated, and have brightened it up considerably with a magic eraser. Still, it's on its last legs.

I think about this thread sometimes when I'm getting dressed to go play my round. I'll take a look at my white belt and think of what I could/would wear if I went totally without it. I wear mine pretty much any time I wear a white hat and white shoes as it seems to be an easy match.

 

So, what do people wear in that option if not a white belt? Assume light blue shorts, white shirt and white shoes... what is the belt color alternative? Navy? Grey? Brown/tan?

 

Maybe a new thread ideas is to have people post pics of their kit for the next round and people throw out belt alternatives. I'm ready to slowly move away from the white belt but need help with building up the other options.

Ditch the white shoes, then you can toss the white belt. Black shoes, black belt accessorize with any colors. You'll look classy and you don't have to be a Rodney Dangerfield.

But I understand you still wear the white belt and white shoes in the winter. Just giving you a hard time... my prior comment was assuming the wearing of slacks. Now, about those Bermuda shorts I wear on the course in the summer...

honestly, with that combo, a white belt would actually be one of the proper choices, as it'd blend with the white shirt nicely. now if you had a different colored top, i'd say either tan or possibly blue.

 

as someone mentioned earlier, you'll want to have your belt match either your shirt or short to extend your silhouette.
