According to Marty Hackel, yes for the most part. He said if you DO wear it, it matches your pants.

 

And also the rule of 36 applies: Under 36 years old, 36 inch waist (or less), and definitely under a 36 handicap! :)

White belt w/ any and all colors of pants, shorts, polos, etc.

 

I just make sure when I wear a white belt, I also wear a white hat and white shoes. Looks good!

I think a white belt looks great with colored pants and a colored shirt, if you have white shoes and maybe some white stripes or a white hat to complement it. The white helps break up the color and add a pop to your ensemble. Just my opinion of course.

Like a few others have mentioned...white belt for white shoes. Granted, sometimes I rock a gray belt with gray pants. Grew up with color coordination drilled into my brain since childhood from my mom who was a fashion major and still is a fashionista today. It's a curse sometimes because now I'm pretty OCD about appearance. It's all about balance though. For example, gray cap, white shirt, white belt, gray pants, white shoes. Stick to two colors..three tops. It wouldn't hurt a few guys out there to pick up an issue of GQ or Details once a year...I've seen guys out there that don't even seem to look at a mirror before they step out. I'm not super-metro but I still care about my appearance.

I still wear a white belt because it matches my white shoes and white hat. I never wear white pants though.

 

I am turning 40 though and once read that this look could only be pulled off by younger guys. I'm also not the slimmest or tallest guy in the world.

 

But I always wear white shoes so to me it feels strange not matching the belt and hat

And to take it a step further: lets say someone just didn't like the white belt... absolutely nothing is better than an all white pair of Icons/Classics/original Adipures/DNA's/ etc.

I personally gravitated to the colored cloth belts and prefer the Nike. It is thicker fabric and the clamp seems stronger vs UA belts.

I no longer wear white pants or shorts, but I'll wear a white belt only when I'm wearing a majority white shirt with light colored shorts/pants (khaki/stone/British grey)

I take pride in my appearance. A saying I heard long ago, "can't play your best if you don't look your best" or something to that nature. I like looking good on the course, brings confidence level up, and when I'm confident, I play well.

There has to be at least a little bit of room for improvement there. And I only say that because you used the word "every". You basically take your white belt out as your "golf belt" and pair it with every golf shirt/shorts/pants combination you have. Hopefully it works with most of what you wear, but my guess is it doesn't work with everything you wear.

 

Consider a grey or blue belt as your next style piece, if black is too drastic of a jump to make.
