I have a XForged UT with Project X LZ, 24 degrees.

Haven’t hit it yet though.

Weather is really crappy in Ohio right now. Hoping to possibly play next weekend, would be 1st round of the year.

I've hit them. They feel awesome. They look great too. havent taken one on a course yet so I dont know how it reacts from different conditions and lies.

I have the 21* with XP 95. For a long iron it's very easy to hit. Off the tee very good and fairway as well. Last week I was in light rough on a par 5 and gave it a try. Worked very well from that lie too. Having played the Apex UT this was an easy transition. It's not hybrid easy to hit but easy to hit for a long iron.

I had the 18 degree club built with the Project X black hazardous hybrid shaft, still snow on the ground here in Nebraska but playing golf in Texas in a week

Pics! What is the hosel tip size? I’ve heard conflicting reports on it, some say it’s .370. That would make hybrid shaft installs so easy

Tried contacting Cally a few times, no reply.

I’ve got mine stock right now, deciding on shaft choice. AD DI 105X tipped 1” sounds delicious though

I live at the coast where the wind blows pretty much every day. Not a hybrid fan. Needed something that's lower launching off the tee and from the fairway, so I traded my Titleist 917 five wood in on the Callaway X Forged 18* UT with the Project X 5.5 shaft. Got it on Friday and had three range sessions so far. Will do the same this afternoon and take it for a spin at my club tomorrow (Pezula Championship Golf Course, Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa). From the range sessions (which was into a 15, 6 and 25 m/h wind respectively, give or take), it is definitely lower launching off the tee and from the grass. With the roll out, it was about 10 yards longer than the 5 wood. The 5 wood will be longer down wind, for obvious reasons. One fallacy that I want to mention is what I've read in most of the reviews, namely that these are for the higher swing speed players. My average swing speed with the driver is in the high nineties (I know, slow by wrx standards), and I had no problem launching it or getting it out there. I'm a bit of a Titleist fanboy and previously played the Titleist T-MB. I am respectfully of the opinion that the X Forged is easier to hit, for me anyway. The X Forged also just sits better at address for me. What I also found was that it was easier to vary the launch of the X Forged, compared to the T-MB. Before buying, I tested the X Forged with the Project X 5.5, Project X LZ 5.5 and the Project X PXi 5.5 shafts. I wanted to go with the LZ as my iron set has the LZ shafts, but contact was more consistent with the Project X shaft.

I am not trying to knock Titleist here, as my set will show; driver Titleist 917 D3, three wood Titleist 917 F3, irons Titleist CB 718's 3-pw, Vokey 56* and 60* wedges (did I mention that I'm a Titleist fanboy). Preferring Titleist clubs, I had a choice of going with the Titleist CB 2 iron or the T-MB. In testing I found that neither the CB nor the T-MB was giving me what I wanted. The CB is also way more difficult to hit than the X Forged.

I think that the long and the short is not so much getting fitted, which I've never believed in in any event as I have played golf long enough to know what works for me, but to try the X Forged with different shafts, until you find the right combination for you. I guess that is also fitting in a way.

I don’t think it is. My 24 degrees has a steel project x lz 6.0 in it.

So I took it out for a spin today. Used it four times off the tee and four times from the fairway. The ones off the tee were all the hight, line and shape that I was looking for. Of the four off the deck, two were exactly the hight, line and shape that I wanted, one was lower and over cooked to the left (my shots are predominantly draws but sometimes I have the tendency to overdo it with the longer clubs), one was higher than what I wanted, albeit on the line and shape that I was looking for.

All in all happy with the test drive. The shaft works for me and I can see this one staying in the bag for a long time. It is more consistent than the 5 wood for me and slots in nicely between the 3 wood and the 3 iron. From the tee a winner for me. From the deck pretty much on par with my 3 iron as far as ease of execution is concerned.

I gave a little review in the tour/pre-release section.

I was very impressed with the X forged UT. It was more forgiving than the T-MB, maybe a hair longer. The T-MB is closer to an iron, the X Forged UT is more a true utility iron (in my opinion) The TaylorMade 790 is in between them in size I think. Another excellent club.

I think a lot of people are going to love the UT. But price is going to turn some people to other brands I'd guess.

I had a srixon u45 a while back. From what I recall, the u45 has more offset and thicker topline. I had trouble adjusting to it for those reasons.

just ordered a 24-degree (bent 2 degrees strong) with ctaper lite, stiff flex.

i’ve owned the previous utility version and the new 2018 x forged utility one feels softer and has less of that hollow clicky feel. less bulgy at set up too. excited to try it out.

Awesome you’ll love it

Why’d you go 2 strong and not 1up on the 21

shaft length is shorter on the 24 degree, and it will match my 4 iron shaft length. just more accurate for me this way.

I have one in the bag right now with a Raijin 84x. I have always preferred having graphite in my UT or DI. Feel is excellent. Paired with the right shaft this can be a deadly weapon. I play at a course that i would consider to be rather short on some par 4’s and having a club that i can either hit low stingers or high cuts with is ideal. Feels far better then the original x proto driving iron.
