Just wondering if anyone has used The Golf Garage for putter refinishing?

This is my putter. As the above poster stated, Kyle does amazing & reasonably priced work. Just do it at the end of your golf season, or have a reliable backup cause turnaround is over 5 weeks.

Anyone have problems with them? I sent him an iron head that needed work on it 4 months ago and still waiting to get it back. Was told a week and a half ago that he was going to ship in a few days but it was never shipped and he isn’t responding to any emails or Facebook messages.

How do you get ahold of this company? I have sent 4-5 messages through their website over about a 6 month span and never got a reply. Do they just expect you to blindly send your 1,000 dollar putter to them without any communication? Obviously some people are ok with that but I am not one of them.

Kyle was responsive through email for me. His work was impressive and prices were very reasonable.

Try Embrace Putters. Liam responds really quickly via Social Media and texts.

Kyle does all my work and has always been top notch.

Are you really trying to send your putter to a guy that doesn’t respond to your messages?

His customer service is AWFUL

I sent him my putter almost 3 months ago. I never got confirmation that he received my putter, after 10 weeks i asked for an update and a snarky comment followed.

I refuse to ever send him any more of my clubs (3 putters waiting to be redone). I don't care how good his work is, he is a total @$$h0le.

If he would simply have said "my business has picked up and i am swamped, i appreciate your business i will have yours done by the end of January" i would not care.. Its not about how long he takes it is simply how bad he treats you as a customer. At the end of the day I am paying you, and there are plenty of other good refinishing companies out there that i will be taking my business to.

Thanks for the confirmation of what I was already suspecting. I’m glad I never sent him a putter. I guess I will look elsewhere. I am specifically looking at PVD finishes on stainless.

I'm still waiting on anything as well. I had to email him to see if he got the putter. Response was just a "yes, received". Checked back with him a couple months later since I didn't ever receive an estimated completion date or an invoice and he said it's still in the works and he doesn't have an ETA yet. That was a month ago. His work does seem good (Haven't seen in person yet), but definitely lacking in the communication aspect. Hopefully I can get my putter back before the season starts.

What work are you having done that it’s been 3 months?

It’s a brand new notchback that I sent to get a PVD applied. So nothing else just that.

The problem with having some finishes applied to a putter (e.g., PVD, cerakote, polymer, nickel plating, etc.) is that the custom putter guy rarely is able to do that himself. So he has to have it done by another shop and often he needs a certain number of heads at one time to get the job done. So your putter sits there waiting for others to get the same finish.

Yup, that is absolutely the case. However, it shouldn't take 3 months plus to have a putter done in PVD.

I’ve had putters getting PVD and copper plating take this long.

Not trying to defend the long wait, but it’s not uncommon.

I'm not defending it either. It's not a great way to do business. Good communication with the customer is key.

Just don't risk these fly by night social media guys. Many of them just mark up the price and outsource to BOS anyway. Just use them directly as they have the proven history and track record, BOS Golf – Feel the Finish

They don't do PVD.

I hear ya. I had a putter done in PVD and the turnaround from unplating, minor restoration of dings, and PVD in about 6 weeks. I guess it comes down to the ability to come up with whatever batch quantity they need to make it worthwhile.

Is this the guy doing the finishing on Lamb putters?

UPDATE: Hemessaged me on 1/2 and said that the holidays put him behind. The next batch of PVD run in a few weeks so its looking closer to end of Jan to middle of Feb. So it does look like he waits for a batch before doing the PVD process. So it looks like I'll still be waiting a while.

Any updates? I’m looking at having some work done on a putter of mine.
