I feel so bad for browns fans ( I've said that a few times). They were robbed by terrible calls.

I was at the game in Oakland and holy crap was it loud. The Coliseum is such a unique place for football and there are only 13 more games left there until they move.

Who is the next head coach to be fired. I am certain that Vance Joseph of the Denver Broncos is on the hot seat. After a 2-0 start (same as last year) the Broncos are now showing their true colors and it isn't Orange Crush.

As a football fan for about 15 years, I must say this season has really wrecked my interest in the sport.

I just feel that the league has cast away the diehard football fans, their long term fans of the sport, in exchange for casual, fantasy football fans. The game is unrecognizable, and the lack of defense really rubs me the wrong way.

Does anybody else share these sentiments? I really enjoyed watching the NFL prior to the last CBA agreement, but its just too much like middle school, two hand touch.

Oh I agree, the on field product is really really bad my annual watch time decreases significantly each season. Even last night what was a close game between two teams was somewhat overshadowed by the new rules where you have a defender just let go of the QB presumably because he did not want to get flagged, QB then runs in for a TD.

Broadcast rules and favoritism to east coast teams dont help. I mean CBS stuck with the Dallas Jax blowout until the very end instead of switching to a more competitive game like Fox does at times. Prime time games are pushing east coast teams at least 85-90% of the time.

it'll take time for the refs and players to get used to the aaron rodgers rule just like it did for the tom brady tuck rule and such. Give it some time.

been watching football for almost 30 years. The game today is 100x safer and is more sustainable. QBs playing into their 40s.

Not looking for a bloodbath but when you defenders starting to be afraid of tackling a QB it has gone too far. It is not just that the back and forth definition of what is and what is not a catch. Horrid officiating, the ever expanding gap between good and bad teams, the product just is not as good at the current time.

It’s week 6. NFL is once a week for teams. They will eventually iron it out.

I don’t think the product suffers. If anything we are seeing some of the best skills on the field now. It’s not longer a brute force game. More skill and cerebral is involved. I love the bloody defensive days but those days are long gone.

And before anyone ask, yes my wife made me listen to the entire star is born sound track over the weekend and I thought lady Gaga was pretty good.

Todays NFL and anti defense rules allows a dude like 2018 Brock Osweiler to go out and easily surpass 300 yards......Im not sure that translates to some of the "best skills on the field now". Its more the rules are just very favorable for offense and handicap the defense vs an increase in skill.

if brock did it every week then I'll give it to you but it's an anomaly and will not repeat itself or rather not repeatable for the entire season.

If that were the case we would have 32 QBs playing at an all pro level at all times. 300 yards is the norm. Been the norm for the last 5 years.

Thats kind of my point, 300 yards is the norm now for just about anybody because the rules have been trending this way for at least the past 5 years, not that "we are seeing some of the best skills on the field".

we are allowed to see some of the best skills on the field. how about that.

a player like tyreek hill running the crossing route would have never happened 15 years ago with sean taylor or john lynch ready to rip someone's head off.

the intimidation and brute force back then was too much for the game. if it takes a complete 180 so be it.

steve young would have wrecked this league if he were to play now. I was there when warren sapp gave him the good chasing. I don't think he was ever the same after that.

Many wideouts have been doing that for decades...and smaller fast WRs like Steve Smith, Santana Moss, Wes Welker etc.. were able to do it.

and now you're just nit picking. Of course WR ran crossing back then but the rules didn't allow them to be as successful.

do you even watch football in the 80s, 90s and early 200s?

Just dictate that next time, or just say slot wide receivers. Stating "player like Tyreek Hill" doesn't really get that across. Thats why I selected "players like Tyreek Hill" (small in stature, and fast) to use to compare.
