What is your 7 wood's shaft?

Seem like the 7 wood get more popular lately. I wanted to tried that set up and manage to make a trade with someone on the bst. I got a honma 737fwc. It is very compact for a fairway wood.

The shaft that is stock is ridiculosly light. It a vizard 50 gr or 60.

Wanted to gather information on what shaft/weight/profile/tip action you play in you use a 7 wood as a regular club in your bag.

Even maybe some recommendation

Alternately I had been considering the following

D+80 and D+80 LTD, Matrix 8M2, Thump F75 or F85, or aldila NV 95

Ended up with a fujikura P95 Rombax stiff

Haven’t hit it yet

Will be first foray into a 7 wood for me

I have a great big Bertha 7 Wood with a Tour AD-DI 7s shaft that I love.

Hit the 7 wood with rombax shaft. Wow. Pretty awesome

Have them in my original Callaway Steelhead 7w and 9w for the past 15+ years

I have an Evenflow White 75 stiff in my new Titelsit TS2. In the past I have used the Fujikura P95 to good effect as well as the True Temper DG Lite (you can still find .335 ones on eBay).

Another good option is the Aerotech Steelfiber SS85 or the orginial Aldila NV85.

I ended up picking a shaft that gave me the spin numbers and distance for the gap in my bag I was trying to fit. Because each 7W head provides different laucnh numbers probably worth testing out a couple to get the exact numbers you want. The best thing is that for the most part all the above shafts can be had pretty cheap.

I have a GBB Heavenwood. It has a UST mamiya x stiff shaft.

This club is easy to hit and control.

Works great for long par 3s, and approach shots from good grass.

We should use a shaft weight progression of about 5 grams uncut pr, inch we go shorter, so if your driver is "perfect" on shaft weight, and you plan to build a 7W thats 3 inch shorter, you should look for a shaft thats 15 grams uncut plus from your driver.

I play Project X Tour Issue 5.5 (The blue 70 grams) in my 7W - Krank Rage 23*

For an older cat like me, I find the Grafalloy ProLite 35 HL perfect for me. (66g)

C-rad, I use the Fuji Motore Speeder 665 R-flex (62 gr.) in both my 4W and 7W. This is a stock shaft for the Alpha 815 model, but it works well for me.

When I switched to the 815s, I was looking for a more aggressive head than the XRails. I also wanted a lower-torque shaft above 60 grams, and this is what I found.

Shaft has mid-kick, mid-launch profile.

Caution: I'm 67 and have an arthritic right hip, so I need a more benevolent shaft than you do.

I like a mid-launch in the 80 gm range for mine. The ones currently in play are in my sig below. Really like the old Speeder 757s.

EDIT: WOW! Just realized my sig is gone!?!? Not sure how that happens?

Anyway, Mine are: Matrix 8Q3, Speeder 757, Aldila RIP Beta 80, Fubuki Alpha 80 & Fuji Motore Speeder VC 8.3.
