eBay weirdness

I listed a pro white this morning and got a quick offer for just .99 less than listing price. User joined today, 0 feedback, profile says Singapore, shipping location is Louisiana , and the sent a message with a phone number to discuss payment and shipping, but the made the offer through eBay.

I declined, seems sketchy

I think you made a good move - Those situations always end up being more painful than they are worth

I wouldn't deal with that guy given the sketchy "call about payment" message... but I did have a bidder that won an auction from me from the Netherlands with a last-second bid. Shipped to a PO Box in Missouri. According to their profile, they were winning TONS of auctions on a daily basis. It was obviously some sort of bid sniping program situation. I was immediately concerned, but they paid. I shipped the club and never heard about it again.

It was a little bizarre, but I'm guessing they're maybe re-selling the clubs overseas or something.

There's plenty of buyers that aren't sketchy. Be patient.

“Discuss payment and shipping”. Yea...it’s called PayPal. Win the auction or use Buy it Now and pay. I wouldn’t entertain whatever story they want to tell you.

Every item that have shipped through the global shipping program, has gone through Kentucky

My bad. My brain froze and thought your post stated Louisville. Thus Kentucky.

Same guy reached out to me for a set of irons I had listed. I did not reply.

I'm in Australia and have bought both off Ebay and the BST. I agree that 0 feedback is a consideration but the shipping address of Louisiana is the international shipping hub for Ebay so that should not be a concern. I know it can be difficult to get certain golf items in Asia Pac that are available states and you maybe surprised it is often cheaper to buy from the states and pay the increased shipping and Import tax than buying the same legit item here. I would exchange messages and gauge his legitimacy before you write him off completely

You are exactly right. Ive sold quite a bit to sinapore and shipped to a US location. Never an issue

Anytime I've shipped ebay international it goes through Kentucky, not Louisiana for what its worth.

I’ve gotten these offers before on the Bay. I take them as an attempt to take my information.

Right or wrong, I also decline and then report them. If they’re legit, no worries. If they are scammers, then whammy
