Irons - Srixon z585 vs Ping G410s

Hello - not playing much golf lately and looking to make my life easier when I do.

Has anyone compared the Srixon z585 to the Ping G410's?

Thinking of order the G410's in PS lofts and the Recoil ZT9 shaft.

I have extensively demoed both on course and range. For me I think the 585s feel softer, look better and perform very well. The G410s are great clubs also but my personal preference would be Srixon. Of course we are all different and others will have different experiences. Good luck in your decision

As mentioned in the G410 thread, the Z585's and G410's are not in the same iron classification. The Srixon's are much smaller and the MOI (forgiveness rating) is miles lower.

Srixon: MOI = 13.2267, and blade length (center line of shaft to CG) = 1.208

Ping: MOI = 19.0437 and blade length = 1.560

I just grabbed z585 4-6i.......the forgiveness added with easy launch and great feel makes these a set for all levels of player

I would go srixon. My playing partner just got the 410’s and I feel that the wide sole, offset, and high bounce, you actually have to pay more attention in order to strike them well. Don’t rule out the jpx forged and hot metals also.

I'm thinking about Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metals, are they in the same iron classification as the G410's?

Yes 585 forgiving

Yes. Pretty close to the same performance either way.

Hello. Thank you but not interested in the 919HM.

Have you actually tried the 410 in PS and with that shaft? That seems pretty excessive loft wise unless you are a massive flipper and have no distance whatsoever. They're great clubs no doubt but I'd get fit for sure. They will also feel much harder than the Srixon and have drastically more offset.

Ok went to PGASS and got on the sim and demoed both in 7 irons. The 585 with the Kuala and the 410 with the Alta.

The Srixon won hands down. It’s was a club longer than the 410, straighter and much softer feel.

Was also impressed with the Kuala 8 shaft.

See! Told ya...... I'm happy for you .....I too just found Srixon......I've got Z585/Z785 combo.... getting better with each outing...... when are you ordering?

Already done called my Pro and placed the order via my CC

Would love to do a combo but not playing enough so need the forgiveness. Thanks again and hit them straight!

I play Z585 5-PW. Great clubs all the way through.

I play the 565, much softer than the 410. Didn’t notice any difference in forgiveness
