The Dunning Kruger effect is hard to overcome. I thought the golf world had the worst case of it, but the amateur medical opinions I’ve seen on Facebook, stated as fact, have been giving golf experts a run for their money.

As a practicing physician and surgeon for almost 20 years, I will second that Monte!

I completely missed Monte's admonitions about questions, lol, but surprise, they had a video that mostly answers my general question about upper body.

Arguably, and would not be much of an argument, the AMG guys have shown us definitive data the tour pros are collectively making the same moves we are hearing from the top instructors here. The models from AMG are such a perfect complement to things that Monte and Chuck (and others) show. Anyone who has read Waldon's arm swing illusion thread. Regardless of when/how he had this epiphany, he's right and the AMG guys have a video clearly showing this.

You can watch Monte's segment 1 and segment 2 to see how to get to left arm parallel, then if you are still not convinced, watch AMG's phase 1 of their model on should adduction, and it clears things up perfectly.

And not to leave out people like Chuck, Jake, George, and others, but the amount all time all these guys are putting in to studying the swing and relaying the data to us is astounding. They cannot price their subscription services high enough to match up because the market of golfers just do not get it.

There's still a little bit missing from instruction to successfully bring it all full circle as a program; but it sure is getting close.

I think Monte's improvement plan is that. It is awesome and at a super reasonable price. I've been loving it two weeks in, and you can opt out at any time and get discounts on lessons, which is nice. Getting you focused on one thing and getting feedback 2-3 times a week is pretty powerful. Of course, I think the golfwrx way for many is to watch tips from a bunch of different instructors, ask for advice here, confuse ourselves, and try feels that aren't real and not really improve. At least, that has been my path...

Folks like Granato and Dana were, at one time, regular posters in this sub (like 10 years ago). My impression from reading threads back then is that guys like Mike and Dana got sick of dealing with Trolls and so decided to stop posting altogether.

Back in the old days, there were a lot of swing "experts" here, many real, but also many not. This was 10+ years ago. There were a lot of online controversies with Manzella, guys here like Dariuz and russc who disagreed with everyone, and then a bunch of other guys who always seemed to take threads down rabbit holes. The list of names of active posters who were controversial was a big one. Mike Granato was mgranato here and on other sites back then.

Okay. I thought you were talking about trolling the instagram live. I remember the trolling. Mods seemed to have banned a ton of folks and folks that used to attempt to come back

as a different IP address/login pretty quickly got identified and banned yet again. Cary seems to have it in for Monte and he came back a ton of times. Coatjones used to specialize in trolling iteach.

And on and on. Some old threads with good content then a page or two in you have to wade through a bunch of junk to find more good info.

We’re lucky to still have Monte and, to a lesser extent these days iTeach (I don’t see him post too often anymore), but this forum would be truly something special if we still had Dan, Monte, Granato, Dana, Jim and many others. Trolls man, trolls.

About 10 years ago. Things were really popping in this sub. You had lots of great instructors. I have had the fortune to still be able to hang out and talk golf with Granato. We have learned so much through the last decade. Sometimes its fun to come back and reminisce. I hope all of you are swinging it well.

All of that was pre Facebook, Insta, you name it social media. It really made it tough for old school forums like this. Social media allows you to create your own echo chamber, and while the debate could sometimes get nasty, and trust me, I was no saint, it was still conversation. I kinda miss it. Anyway, hit em well.

If Monte gets the Jeff Brehaut session up that's a must watch!
