The method was a one time deal for st. andrews to try and deal with the slower than usual greens. It didnt even make it all 4 rounds, Im willing to bet you wont see the method in tigers hands again. He knows his cameron well and I think he realized pretty quick what works for him. How many wins and majors has that putter produced? Nuff said........

X 2 FO SHO! That was a, "I did good with it during a practice round, let's put it in play once. . .. .. . . . Okay, once was enough."

I don't believe he'll change again

as seen at the British and weeks before, it isn't the putter, he can miss 2 footers with the Method as well as the Scotty.......

For those claiming the Indian v arrow, please remember we had a back to back comparison at the Open. The Nike never saw a round south of 30, the Cameron saw a round of 27 (going off memory).

AMEN!!!!! Would people please stop saying that equipment doesn't matter!

Obviously it matters if the best players in the world spend all the time they do finding the right equipment. Now I'm not saying you need to spend $4,000 on a putter or a driver to find the right golf club. But there is a optimal combination for ALL golfers of ALL levels.

An obtuse argument. Tiger hit only 10 GIR on the Sunday so was chipping from around the greens and therefore putting from closer range. I'm sure he would have preferred Thursday's 32 putt round of 67 to Sunday's 27 putt round of 72.

Of course it is the Indian - how else do you explain Tiger's current US tour putting ranking of 134 using the same putter that had him top 20 last year?

Great post! Been a while since I've seen the word obtuse used in a post, I like it. He's stuggling abit right now on the greens. Has zero to do with putter he's using. Its HIM, not the stick.

+1. I'm sure he's playing a practice round today, no?

Just got a Direct Message from Nike Golf on Twitter (for you non-twitter people that like a PM) " well, the method has been rolled on the practice rounds, but the scotty is here too.".....JUST UPDATED " Nike Golf has said "he's going with the Scotty for confidence", but they also said the WITB section of his website still shows the Methods.

What a mess this is!!

So Nike obviously putting pressure on Tiger to put the method in the bag! Anyone else think this might tie in to his transgressions? I know Nike stuck with Tiger through it all but surely they must have wanted something in return! I mean losing Nike would have been a HUGE blow to brand Tiger so I think he might be under some kind of pressure to at least try and put this into play. Maybe I am reading too much into the situation though!

You're probably reading too much into it. I expect him to use the Scotty. I'd be surprised if he didn't. He said yesterday during the pressers that he hasn't been practicing putting really in the past couple of YEARS and had to get back to that. Well bro, it's showing. Get back on the greens!

Is it better for Nike to put pressure on Tiger to play the Method and Tiger does not play well, plummets in the rankings because he is not winning, which will further erode his confidence creating a cascading tumble into David Duval land? Or is it better for Nike to let Tiger game what ever putter he wants, gain some confidence and start winning again.

I would vote for the latter because if Tiger does win then it bodes well for the other 13 clubs in the bag. Then who knows, with new found confidence Tiger might be more likely to game the Method. I agree with everyone that said that it was the "Indian and not the arrow." Being that this is probably the case, any small thing can set off a case of cranial shanks (head case).

All I know is that a club that gives me any doubt or is not pleasing to my eye will never perform for me. I could be putting with a "best putter maker", "best and most exotic material", "best putter in the world", in the absolute perfect weight and length but if the putter does not look right then there is no way I could be successful with it. Even if the putter looked good but there was still doubt in my mind, again, then I would not be successful with that putter. It is really not the putter but my case of cranial shanks. Right now Tiger has a huge case of this. There is no putter in the world that is going to cure this, not even his beloved Cameron GSS NPII putter.
