My one course that I want to play before I die is one I have already played but I must someday play it again. Old Head, in Kinsale Ireland the most amazing course you will probably ever play. I have been fortunate to play all over the world because of work and a bit of luck and I can tell you that there is something about Old Head that is almost spiritual. You aren't crammed on the course like Bethpage or Pebble, there are no carts, no roads, no people, it is quiet but fierce at the sametime. The wind will be blowing and the sea will be crashing on the cliffs below, forgetting the job, the wife, the kids, the bills, the rush of life will happen and you will enjoy this place.

Royal Melbourne Composite Course. For some reason I've always wanted to play there, hopefully I get the chance.

Love this idea! If anyone has read the blog from the guy who played the top 100 in the world, these courses can be fairly easily to get on, with proper arrangements. This one is very doable, albeit an expensive airfare just to get there...

NGLA for me.

You won't be disappointed. It's not the best course I've ever played (that title belongs to Merion), but it is an unrivaled experience as far as I am concerned. The exclusivity. The views. The lobster lunch. The fact that the course doesn't beat you down. It's amazing.

For me, it has to be Augusta, mainly due to the history of the tournament and its beauty.

That said, I am rather content with places I have played already. I have been very fortunate in that aspect of my life and while I have not exactly ticked off all the major championship courses nor the top 100 list, putting into perspective, I am happy. I have been extremely fortunate to have played all the Pebble courses (except Cypress and Monterey Peninsula), played St Andrews several times (going back in a month, too) and the course I learned on (one of top 4 courses in Canada) highlight the list (Bay Hill is a great memory for me as well, being able to play at Arnie's place). There are many other courses I have absolutely loved and will not begin naming them but to say I have been truly fortunate is an understatement.

Add to that, I have a wife that is extremely understanding of my passion for golf (she does not play golf) and in fact, 2 of the three times that I have played St Andrews, it was her doing! That I am going back next month - also her doing! How amazing is SHE?? As I said, I am truly lucky. Every time I go to St Andrews, it feels like the first time.

Sorry. There is NO course that holds that kind of value to me. Before I kick, I'd like the feeling that comes from carding another sub-par round, alongside my wife and son.

I read a quote by a former PGA of America president. He said Cypress Point "is the Sistine Chapel of golf" or something along those lines.

Does anyone know if us peasants can get on that course? I read that it was taken off the PGA Tour venue rotation (back in the 80s?) because it did not allow blacks but I'm wondering....is it private?

I'm just not that crazy about Pine Valley or St. Andrews, meh. Augusta would be cool, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm still waiting for someone to recreate the course exactly and call it August National or something. I think there is a HUGE opportunity to snatch up some real estate in George, or China or N.Carolina, or Florida or somewhere and rebuild it.

I'm 32, I told my wife either I play Pebble between now and my 40th birthday or that is my 40th birthday present. I already played Riviera, Firestone, Torrey loads of times. TPC Sawgrass would be kind of cool, but I might get there in a few years if I move to Florida which my company plans make me think I will.

I like traditional courses with lots of age, but American traditional, not British links style. I think something old here, like Brookline or Winged Foot would be cool. Muirfield since I'm an Ohio boy for life. Maybe a few others like Erin Hills, French Lick, Whistling Straights, Oakmont maybe.

But I think for my last round ever, I'd probably play Riviera or Torrey again. I saw a charity event from Pepperdine offered a round at Riv for $1650, 4 times what I paid to get in through MasterCard. I've played Torrey South maybe 30 times now, I just play really well there, and would enjoy one last loop for the memories.

Another one, is the no-name course we all played growing up. The course you play when you go home to see your folks. It's probably nowhere near the conditions it used to be, or you remember it being, and it probably sucked back then like it does now. But that's the one place you can test your game against yourself at different ages of your life. Unless you have been playing competitively your whole life and have stats on tournaments I guess. But for me, that is Village Green in North Kingsville, OH.
