I contacted them a few months ago for this same request and they said they could not do a santa fe style neck. Guess they can now. Nice.

I think your mistake is in asking for a SANTA FE style neck. Little Scotty references should not be made when talking to PING.

Agreed here.

 

Cameron drew his inspiration from Ping for his designs. Ping is the original. You could have said "Ping Zing" neck or whatever other model of neck Ping has that is similar to what you want.

Very nice. Love the neck and the finish is beautiful. I have always thought the Redwood line was nice. It seems I am drawn to them at the golf shops. Great putter. Thanks for the pics.

That's the nicest Redwood anywhere. I know what you mean about the feel - I cannot get my Piper out of my bag, even with all my more expensive toys. I think you just gave Ping a very good idea...

 

I really like the weld too. I cannot understand why so many weldneck putter have such ugly welds. I think it looks so much better with a properly sanded and finished weld.

I have to agree that with out knowing you would think this is a OTR putter. Lines are so clean!! Great job!! Ping has always had a soft spot in my heart. Top notch putter and this is one fine example!!

double ditto. I play the tracy II just b/c of the neck. I play Ping irons and wedges. This would be a no brain-er, I would black or starshot finish. I would actually think I would prefer the black.

Hello.. I've been a Ping Kool Aide drinker for 3 weeks now...

 

first my S57's WRX, then my Tour-W's custom ground from the WRX..

it's amazing how ping would just do that... i hate to say it, but over at scotty cameron, a thing like that would be a crime. plus it looks so neat ad that you bought it like that... no weld marks or anything. it looks fantastic and even though i don't like that hosel (no offense) it looks fantastic.

from what i understand you bought 2 putters. could you just swap out the necks and then sell the other putter. put the zb neck on the anser and the anser neck on the zb

I'm curious about a few things here...The Redwood Anser was designed to have a certain balance point and sweet spot, did it change significantly when you change the neck? How does it feel?

 

The other thing; the standard head weight on the Redwood Anser is 340g...did you only have to add 5 grams with the tungsten? My prefered headweight (and my current putter's) is 340g...I could potentially save a lot of $$$ by not adding the tungsten inserts.

 

And is there no face milling on this one? The pics make it look smooth. Any chance you could add a pic with the toe hang?

 

I have a TON of book money at my course from all my men's club tourneys this year...we can only use it on merchandise, not greens fees or other tournaments. I've been a very good boy this year, and I may have to order this through my shop.
