My new Ping WRX Anser!!!!

This is my new PING WRX Redwood Anser with the ZB neck. Tungsten weights in the face to get it to 345 grams. Starshot bead blasted finish. I don't know if they welded the neck on, but if they did you can't tell. I has a little more toe hang than a regular Anser, mabe 4:30 or 5:00. I didn't want a stainless Anser 4 because I like the feel of the Redwoods better. Don't ask me how much it cost, you don't want to know! Enjoy!







Here is a pic of the sole. It is chrome instead of the black nickel color on my regular redwood.

I have to say that is the best looking Redwood I have seen. The neck is awesome. I would love to know who you ordered that from and what the charge was for that work.

A little educated guess:

 

Redwood Anser, $250

Redwood ZB, $250

Neck Weld, approximately $120

Tungsten Weight, approximately $150

Starshot finish, $50

 

I am guessing at least around $850 without tax.

I contacted them a few months ago for this same request and they said they could not do a santa fe style neck. Guess they can now. Nice.

I am an authorized PING dealer. $850 would be pretty close per the above breakdown. Fortunately I had to just pay cost, but that was not much less than the price above. I ordered it from the WRX department, it took a couple hours to get the o.k. on it. I would try to place an order like this through and authorized dealer, and you should have no problem. Definitely the most I have spent on a putter, but well worth it. The putter turned out better than I imagined. The sole is exactly the same as any other anser redwood, so I didn't take a pic. PING does an awesome job on all of their products and service. This putter only took about 2 days in production. Amazing!

I hate to be redundant but...really super looking putter. I love how Ping does custom work but makes it look like it's straight off the rack. Although I'm a great fan of welded necks and other bling things, Pings clean, simple looks have always been met with great pleasure from me.

Why don't you talk to ping wrx about a special edition run of them. It has to worth investigating, I think you would sell them if you could get the unit cost down. I'd be interested.

It's not often that I see a putter that makes me instantly jealous of the owner; but this would be one of those cases. I have a Sizemore XB-2 with a welded SantaFe style neck. I love that putter and I'm sure I'd absolutely love the one you have there. Very nice putter.

That truly is a beautiful putter. I was in Golf Galaxy yesterday (what else is new) and saw a used putter with a similar neck. I tested it on their pracitce green and almost bought it. Now you've inspired me to get back to GG and pull the trigger

I saw the custom weld quote a while back at $220, and was curious if anyone would ever follow through on it. Impressive to see it done, and again, with the level of craftsmanship that PING's Wrx department is known for. Hopefully we see a Redwood Anser 4 before too long. A $250 + options option is much more palatable than a $250 + $250 + $220 + options option, especially when the wifey's doing the bookkeeping. :yes:

$850 is a great value for a top OEM brand to custom make a putter for you. Remember OEM should always be more expensive than the independent boutique makers. Odyssey won't do such customization for you, and neither will Cameron. Cameron actually has pre-made Newport 009 1.5 putters that he would sell over $2000 and you even have little or no control over the customizations. So its still a pretty good deal from Ping considering everything there.

Everyone has said how pretty it is which I agree, it is a sweet a-- putter!

 

But looks and a high price tag doesn't mean I would like it. Would love to hear a on course review.
