“Signature series” Vokey 60 K grind anyone?

Just got an email from Titleist.

 

“Signature” Vokey K grind 60 degree with heel and trailing edge relief is available. Only 25 will be available. Yep. 25.

 

$350 a pop.

I was honestly considering trying a flip on one since only 25 are being made.

 

I think I’d actually like the grind though. Too bad it’s not in the regular line up at a normal price to actually play it. I’m way too cheap to play a $350 plus tax wedge.

I’m not gonna tell anyone how to spend their money but I just do not understand these uber limited release wedges with special grinds. What happens when the grooves wear down and it’s literally impossible to get a replacement in the same grind? Putters? Sure order whatever you want because you aren’t really going to wear it down beyond use. A wedge on the other hand has a playability life and once those grooves are gone it might as well be a paperweight.

Agreed. That’s an extension of my thinking as well on price. If it lasted for many years maybe it would make sense to spend a lot on the “perfect” wedge, but you probably can’t replace it when it wears out. Besides that, There is no where to try it. Complete crapshoot on if it fits you or not.

 

At least with an expensive wedge like Artisan they save your specs and if you wear one out and want another one,( and they are still in business), you can get an exact replacement.

Yeah. I honestly regret not giving a flip a try. I got the email release really early. I could have easily got one before I posted this thread.

 

I think $1250 is a bit rich, but hey, you never know.

 

Oh, BTW, it doesn’t say “handground” on it, it has Bob’s signature on the high toe.

 

Look on the bright side, anyone who actually wants one to play can now customize a wedge works raw version at around $200 bucks. That was really the point, to Bring attention to the new grind.

The whole point of it is that it’s a 1 of 25. Why would you even consider altering it? Seems idiotic for a flip.

$350 for a wedge? Unless you plan on framing it and hanging it in your man cave, I just don't see it. I mean, a Vokey is a Vokey, correct? Regardless, appears the limited run of 25 wedges is sold out according to the site. Now, I have a couple of Vokey Cold Forged wedges from Japan my nephew brought back to the states for me when he was stationed in Japan. But, other than the special grind, which I don't get, is so special. You get pretty much get any wedge custom ground if you really want to. Next, expect Roger Cleveland to follow suit with a "Special Edition" PM grind. Oh yea, they just released that version, didn't they. Oh well, to each their own.
