I just ordered the 2 and 4 in graphite stiff to merge with 5-p, s400, 785's. I'll post yardage gaps in a few weeks. Hoping the 4u plays more like a 3-1/2i.

Pretty happy with the yardage gaps in this configuration. 5 iron goes about 180, 4 utility goes about 195 and the 2 utility is about 215 carry off the deck. Love the 2 utility off the tee on shorter par 4s, probably get close to 230 with roll out. Hitting a low running punch with the 4 utitliy is not working as well as my old 4 iron, but that was to be expected.

How are people breaking these down? I'm looking to make a move from Titleist to Srixon and wondering the best way to split. 785 PW-7 or 6 or 5 and then either going straight to U or to 585 or combo of the three. Hoping to demo and see where these go but it seems like most fitters stick with the 6 iron and don't have a ton of the 3-4-5 options available with the right shafts.

In the 65s I play a u65 3iron, 4-6 565, 7-pw in 765. I play all the stock lofts and there is slightly larger gap between the 6-7irons than I’d like. It’s rarely a yardage that’s an issue for me so I haven’t adjusted the lofts yet but if I do I’ll weaken 4-6 1 degree.

I love the set and would definitely recommend it. I may be looking to go to 765/965 combo soon but other than that I’d say they are the best irons I’ve ever owned.

I think I'll end up with something around what you're doing. Hoping to go hit soon.

Love the 2 iron u65

wondering if i should consider the 4 iron u85 instead of my p790 4 iron

thoughts?

I have the 2 and 4 utility and love them both. I use the 2 off the tee on three short par fours on my home course and confidence is high that I will place the ball where I want. Have not had a use for it yet of the fairway, but it works good on the range off the ground. I use the 4 on our long par three, 208 uphill. The 4 launches and high and lands soft. Hit that green three times in a row now. Also used it twice to recover from a bad tee shot. I can play it back in my stance and punch it low and let it roll towards the green. Have not had a use for it yet on a full shot from the fairway, but again, it works good on the range.

For everyone commenting that the sole is too wide it’s like that for a reason. The club is way more versatile that way. With the wide sole it’s actually playable from thicker rough and poor lies. Try hitting an 18 degree UDI, TMB, Callaway Ut etc. out of the rough and see how that works out. Those clubs are basically off the tee clubs, Srixon has designed these to be a well rounded club overall.

sounds Ideal

appreciated

think i am going this way

790 4 iron not long enough vs the 5 and dispersion off tee and carpet too high for reward

ditch that 4 and replace with u85 slightly stronger loft for moi, distance and higher flight / softer landing

win / win / win

2 iron u85 for the ground and pound part...

So, if I were mixing a set, why would even bother with the 585 if I can get the U85 up to the 6i?

How does this U85 stack up in terms of forgiveness? How harsh do the mishits feel compared to other driving irons on the market?

here you go...... guy says it's more forgiving than his callaway UT. If you watch the video, he hits a couple off the toe, heel, and thin with pretty consistent results. Looks to be pretty forgiving.

I am interested as I just saw these. I currently play a set of Z Forged I just built with Recoil 95F4 or a set of Z 765 with Steel Fiber, both 5i through PW. I use a U65 with Recoil for my 4i. How do these compare to the U65 ? I am always questioning my bag and currently I am not hitting the U65 or my Cobra 5W very well so they are under review LOL.
