With 5-6 being 26 and 29 how can these blend with current 565 5-6 which are 24 and 27 respectively?

Β

Because they will be hotter than the 565’s. It seems that everybody gets wrapped up in what the loft number is… Personally I want the club to go a certain yardage and I don’t care what the loft number is. Of course assuming the correct spin, landing angle, etc.

U65 line was great. Looks like these will be neutral/draw based with the COG adjustment back in line to U45. Love that they’re offering it in 5 and 6 irons for a solid hybrid replacement. Interested to see how these look in person.

Β

I game the U65 3/20 and the added width gives me confidence that it’s going to get airborn. I play 965s 7-ow for the opposite reason.

Β

Great options from Srixon for combo sets.

LOL, "ZUBS" I was thinking this, too.

Β

It looks pretty cool but it looks like they didn't know what to do for a design and just mixed the 45 with the 65. I'm sure it will work well, just have to get used to the design. The 785 do look cool though.

I've been using an 18* Z u45 for a couple of years now, and it's fantastic. This looks like basically the same thing as the 45/65 with a couple of tweaks, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I did fairly extensive driving iron testing before settling on the Z u45, and I find these to be the best ones out there. The only thing that would make me consider changing is if they had slimmed down the sole.

These look nice. Wouldn’t mind it if they skimmed down the sole and top line compared to their predecessors, though.

Is the blade length similar to the 785 series? How seamless will the transition from u85 to 785 be?

Β

The U series topline is a little thicker, doesn’t have the same v sole and has a hollow body compared to the 7 series. So, looks a little thicker and you may get more ballspeed with the springier face on the U compared to the 7.

Advice needed please i was fitted into zu65 2 iron with kbs tour protohybrid 85g stiff+ but it appears the head is no longer available in the uk. Do any of the fitters on here think the zu85 will perform differently or be similar as thinking of just going with the zu85 on release thanks.

Keep making the sole too big and overall clunky headshape

Β

I think many would be better served using the 585 long irons

Not really hating. Big srixon fan boy. I’ve echoed a very common analysis given on this club and the cobra utility...

Β

Not really a contender with the udi and x forged ut out there and a lot sleeker look. Not allowed to give personal opinions here now lol. Wack

i need to hear an explantion as to why Srixon didn't incorporate v sole into the utility . You just gave people something negative to say about how wide the sole is and its true it is wide. That wide sole compromises playability from less than prefect lies or even out of rough. Sheesh Srixon I've loved you guys for years and you go and pull this mess. That Driver come on seriously the top looks good but that sole doesn't match the colors are drab and it just looks old on the bottom i see some old nike tech or something going on. Cleveland Srixon seriously come on the 45 series of clubs really had us going and riding the wave but this last couple of rehashes of the same ole soup just reheated with a little cheese on top is going to lose you all the momentum you gained with the 45 series. The 745's were just awesome they are classic even if they are similar to my favorite iron the j40 cb . Alright Srixon thats enough wrap it up i've seen enough.

Β

So the U85 is not versatile just because it does not have the V-sole? I don't have the new U85 but I do have a U65 that did not come with the V-sole. And I don't carry a 3 wood anymore and I rarely use my hybrid because I can hit my U65 from just about any lie.

Β

The V-sole feels great for turf interaction. And who knows, it may even help with impact issues or injuries like tendenitis and trigger finger. I just can't see how not having the v-sole takes any shot making capability away from a driving iron.

My 20* should be here tomorrow. I've always used a hybrid, and have had the same one for several years (21* 910H that I bought new). I'm interested to see how this one stacks up. It looks great.
