What's a good 50 degree wedge?

Well, when you figure out which one you're keeping sell me the other!

I have two, one with a dynamic gold 105 stiff and one with a gold 95 regular. Trying decide which one to keep. I use it from ever where, replaced my sandwedge for chipping. They are 51 and not sure what the bounce is but it is so accurate and feels so solid.

My 50.12F is an SM6 but I also have a 52.08F that's SM7. Can't say exactly what's different about the shape but the SM6 sits behind the ball much better for some reason. When I hold them side by side they both sort of "look like a Vokey gap wedge" but on the course SM6 is my preference.

I’m just put an older 50 SM4 gap wedge back into play. Love the feel. I was a Cleveland fan for years but the Vokeys have been my favorite now since the 2010’s .

Awesome to hear! I got a sm6 50.08 bent to 51 - Nippon spb, in the workshop.

It sets up so nicely and I believe it’s best Gap wedge shape I’ve seen. Exactly how many us would design

Unless he's a player approaching scratch and playing blades (or something tiny like AP2's) then he should really look at something made for cavity back irons like the Glide 3.0 or CBX 2. If the young man is relatively strong and athletic he'll probably hit that 50* upwards of 120-125, why not take a little forgiveness? And get something that will blend a bit better than a heavy bladed wedge.

You know, that's an important point. To me the weight change from wedges to iron set is a bigger deal than the shape change. Much bigger.

My Modus 3 105 R iron shafts are about 102g and my Vokeys have DGS200 shafts of something like 127g. Even the clubs were shaped the same, I just don't swing a PW weighing 443g the same as a Vokey GW weighing 466g. That's almost a full ounce heavier.

My decision of how far down in the bag to carry Vokeys instead of JPX 900 HM's has as much to do with weight as sole shape or clubhead size.

“Long time users” starts much earlier than most think. Titleist has a huge presence in jr golf. They hand out clubs and balls like candy to the young players AND their parents. The mantra of “I’ll only play titleist” is ingrained early.
