That is some good flexibility/mobility. It is much harder than it appears.

but as mentioned....tiger in his 2008 us open practice rounds wasn't breaking 50 according to all reports. then he won. tournament proper beginning on thursday is what counts. never know until that point
Fair point. Reports at Pinehurst were that Fowler struggled to break 80 in the practice round Wednesday. Finished 2nd in the tournament to the surprise of many folks. Regardless of what Woods says, I think making the cut would be a little victory for him this week. A step in the right direction compared to Congressional at least.

Prior to the back injury and surgery, I thought there was a very good chance Tiger would win here at Hoylake this week. I thought his best chance to win a major was here, and the season he had last year...everything was looking nice.

Now I'm not feeling it. It's probably good that he did heal quick and played at Congressional because if this was his first tournament back, it'd be more difficult.

The interesting thing though is that in the short videos of him out there so far this week, he's not rehearsing swing positions or looking frustrated with his swing. He's just starting down the ball for a long time. He doesn't seem to be too concerned with his swing.

So even if he isn't hitting it that well, it's probably a timing or synchronization issue, which I think is easier to fix than a position issue.

And if he can just catch fire with the putter, I think he can contend. He's not going to hit 80% of fairways and greens like in 2006 but if he sharpens up his short game and holes a lot of putts, he can still do it.

Holly c***, he's getting ripped !!

Darren looks about 10 years younger. Most people do when they lose weight. Some people can look older. A neighbor a few blocks away became, I guess, a hard core runner and leaned out like crazy. I guess he lost 40 pounds from 180 to 140 at 6'1". He looks terrible.

prior to arriving at hoylake, john cook said on morning drive today tiger played a ton of golf in the bahamas where it's obviously just as windswept of a location. so it isn't like he's just been sitting around hoping things will happen by just showing up and living off of past memories of a victory here. the course is lush and forecasts of rain will make this place play a lot slower. it simply might come down to those factors where the conditions will be in his favor (along with many others too). if it were playing firm and fast then i'd expect it to be much less forgiving where his rust can be more easily exposed. we'll see thursday morning

What's he doing here? Practicing extension through the shot, flying wedge? Mashed potato.

Doesn't look bad, just never thought I'd see TW swing like this. Looks kinda snt push draw stuff.

The second green looks diabolical with those pot bunkers. They will ruin someone's day.

I'd somehow find them...

Q: "Tiger, what would be an acceptable result this week after your limited preparation?"

A: "First."

Q: "Anything else is unacceptable?"

A: "That's always the case."

He's going to MC by a mile.

what makes you so sure, maybe he's playing well

Not according to the folks who have watched him in practice rounds.
