Not sure about a must-buy, but couldn't resist the price - and certainly wasn't going to let it go to a non-forum member for that ;-)

Only problem is ... now you'll need the TM-53 and the TM-61 :)

My latest find at Goodwill, 1959 Macgregor Jack Burke Emerald Irons 2-9. Original shaft bands on Macgregor Lo-action shafts and original green and grey leather grip. And an Ironmaster IMGN Gooseneck putter with original leather grip. Saw three of the irons a week or so ago, and passed on them. This week the rest showed up with the putter. $2.92 each. Hit the 5 and 9 at the range yesterday. Seem solid. Cleaned them up and am working on the grips. Anyone know if they originally had paint fill? Not really a Macgregor fan, but couldn't pass up complete set, especially with the grips. I now have a set older than me. (50 years old)

Arriving sometime this week, 1,3,5w set for $8 USD per club plus domestic courier fee. Looks like they're not beat up and appear to have the '80's DG shafts, so hopefully it's just three GP grips from the shed.

Mizuno-

This is a top retail store line set from MacGregor, and includes a Tommy Armour putter even Ironmaster Bob would love-

To my knowledge, Jackie Burke, Jr is still alive in TX-
Hopefully that is true, but either way you can find some great video footage online of him in conversation with Steve Elkington on a whole range of subjects that would be of general interest to this crowd.

These recently acquired, rebuilt rusty old sleepers have had their first test session . They should definitely give my Mac's a run for their money.
I have not had anything in hand for a long long time that just lets me recklessly lash though the ball..... I can't wait to get these on the course!

Hi folks. I'm totally new to this area of WRX and generally ignorant of the classic gear. I found these in the old man's stuff. Did I find junk? Chrome plated treasure? Paperweights?

Back in the Niles Hoard there was a brand new set of Wilsin K 28's. 2-9+PW, 1,3,4,5 woods with covers and a bag. Basically brand new. Some irons still had plastic on the heads. Your K28's are probably. 1960's judging from what I can see. Probably similar vintage to the TurfRider Staffs. The ones I had were probably 15-20 years newer. Still forged heads, lamb aged maple woods. So before the advent of metal woods and cast irons.
They were cool, in their own way. I gave them to the 1st Tee Program in South Bend. I always thought the accumulator of the Niles Hoard either bought them when a sporting goods store closed, or from some widow whose husband got them as a retirement gift and died before he had a chance to use them.

Just back in town from a business trip and the MT 88-0 set I picked up recently, arrived on cue. 1,3,5 in fine condition, pretty good grain and ready to play, with S300 shafts and near new GP tour wraps.

Dang, those are REALLY nice looking CK. Let us know how they play.

And......if.......for any reason, you find them less than satisfactory, I get first dibs on an offer even if it may cost a zilly $ to ship from Kiwiland.

It's the green and white inserts that does it for me.

I just picked up a set of 1-4 1954-1955 MacGregor M75W woods from an antique store in Snohomish, WA. These have been refinished with a thick layer of black lacquer. There doesn't appear to be any neck cracks. The crown Winged MT stamp is coverd up (hopefully not with epoxy) and a decal is in place. I will have these refinished and hope the crown stamp can be saved. If not so be it. The price of the set was pretty good ($40.80 for the set of 4). This is the driver of the set. All the woods are in similar condition.

Driver:  TaylorMade 300 Mini 11.5° (10.2°), Fujikura Ventus Blue 5S Velocore

3W:  TaylorMade M4 15°, Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7S

Hybrid:  TaylorMade Sim2 2 Iron Hybrid 17°, Mitsubishi Tensai AV Raw Blue 80 stiff

Irons:  Mizuno Pro 223 4-PW, Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 stiff

GW / SW: Mizuno T-22, 52° (bent to 50°)/ 56° (bent to 54°), True Temper S400

LW:  Scratch Golf 1018 forged 58° DS, Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 stiff

Putter:  Byron Morgan Epic Day custom, Salty MidPlus cork grip

Grips:  BestGrips Augusta Microperf leather slip on

Hi Ya'll, it has been a while for me posting, so I wanted to catch you up on some of my recent acquisitions..

I picked up a set of Wood Bros forged blades, 2-SW, a set of Hogan 1968 Bounce Sole Plus - 1, 3 - EQ, a set of 1973 Apex blades 2 - EQ, a set of Hogan / Slazenger Precision blades, 2 - EQ, a set less 7 iron of 1979 Apex II's, a set of Hogan 1984 Apex PC's 3 - EQ.

From a Persimmon standpoint, also have acquired a MacGregor M43T driver, a MacGregor / Hogan driver and 2 - wood (still working on what year and model they are..), a number of Hogan and Macgregor drivers and fairway woods owned by Tom Kite too.

I may have missed some, but here are some pictures.. enjoy!
