A little, well...maybe a lot, of lead tape and the black goes away.
What do you think? Yes or no?
Frustrated is the best way to put it. They had an amazing chance to really reach a lot of non-Nike guys with the MM Proto (of course with the new name). I'm don't think this will reach out like they want. Hope I'm wrong.
Dead on. Have never played nike but was going to give these a shot. Completely lost me tonight. Sticking with my miuras.

Kinda wishing I didn't have the red covert driver and had the matte black!
Glad I have the black! Maybe a little green paint fill to match the blades I'll be getting. If you look how small the current blades are that black section won't be very big. I think they will look great in person!

The only comment I would have in defense is...a lot of people on here (and elsewhere) bash companies for changing placement of a logo (Titleist), or minor changes in shape, or releasing clubs every 2 months (TMAG). Nike comes out with a new line every few years and they introduce some pretty drastic changes (some will like, some won't) and most are bashing that too. Granted the color scheme was a gamble, but maybe they feel if they don't do something drastic the non-ho's will not find a reason to switch from their VR Lines.

Note I am a major ho and Titleist advocate...just an observation.

If tiger puts em in the bag u know it's the real deal!!
If he doesn't Nike is full of BS. Tiger is supposedly one of the guys behind the design of these irons.
If that's true I'm guessing tiger was in with the color scheme as well?

Holy crap! I go and put the kid to bed and I come back to this? Like Many, this is a huge disappointment. However if we could Nike ID everything all of our problems would be solved because I bet you the technology is phenomenal and I actually like the design overall just not the color scheme.

I'm sure the color scheme was left to the Marketing guys.

From the Nike website:

When studying Tiger's blades, The Oven team noticed that the wear pattern was directly on the center of the club face, not trending towards the heel where the bulk of the club's weight is carried and where he could achieve a more efficient strike. Our club designers knew that they hadn't yet optimized the traditional blade for Tiger. They knew they could do better.
"We had this idea, if we moved the CG towards the center of the face that it would have more impact and more mass right behind the golf ball. And it worked. I was able to hit the ball a little bit further, it came off more solid, and the amazing thing is the ball flew better." - Tiger
Working with Tiger to find a solution, the craftsmen at The Oven started drilling holes towards the toe of his irons and filling it with a weighted tungsten plug. An approach that changed the club's CG, offering the purest hit possible and giving birth to what would eventually become Modern Muscle technology. Modern Muscle technology achieves the same adjustment in CG, but does so through geometry instead of a tungsten plug. This updated design method pushes weight to the toe of the club, shifting the center of gravity to the middle of the club face. The face-centered CG is right where it needs to be for optimum performance, precision, stability and ball speed.

Does anyone actually believe that Tiger didn't know where the sweetspot was on his irons? That he just hit the ball in the middle and couldn't feel the difference or figure out to move his impact slightly toward the heel?

Does Nike not know that Ping and Srixon have been been using tungsten plugs in the toe to center the sweetpot for the last four or five years?

Have they heard of the Titleist DCI? For those not old enough to remember, DCI stands for Direct Central Impact or something like that. The big selling point was that the sweetspot was centered on the face. In 1993.

The pro combos look pretty sweet. Don't mind the color scheme / look at all. Plus, I'm sure they'll perform and you don't look at the back of the club when hitting it anyway..

Count me in for a set of the PCs!!

People get on Nike releasing different colored irons. What about the junk Taylor made puts out every 3 months
It's funny they come out with all sorts of crap and change every 3 months rocketballz rocketblades speed blades this that green orange white blue I do like their tour preffered line but really they are the worse. Nike is out to turn heads. That's why their clothing sticks out more there here to be traditional but to set trends for younger children, adults to get out and play #dontsleeponnike

The speed version is not forged I do not believe. The PC and blade models have forged written on the club and it is called out in the specs.

I was really really hoping for a lefty gi forged model, just like the covert forged. Maybe the PC can be that club, I'll have to wait and see. The problem is that I doubt many retailers and pro shops will have a lefty version to demo. Hoping I'm wrong though.

It's either that or hope Scottvw is right about whatever happens in 2015, unless this is what nike meant when they said 2015 would be their biggest year yet.

I really don't care for the volt. And I'm one of nikes biggest fans. I also fit the demo they are apparently targeting. I'll wait and see how they perform before I pass judgement.
Love em hate em...at lease nike is putting out better product than it's last... Unlike some OEM every 6 months like taylormade from rocketbladz to speedblade to sldr irons which are the same damn thing with different badging
Thank you. Nike is innovating and changing things. The others pump out the same clubs with different names.

I was wondering about that as well. I heard that in the 90's but thought that was fixed in all clubs these days. Is that not the case?

If the club looks good from address, feels good, and performs does it really matter if the swoosh that can't be seen during a swing is red, black, vapor green, or puke yellow?
