Had a lengthy session w/ the monitors at GS this morning w/ a few drivers, including all the Vapor models. I brought my current gamer with for comparison purposes.

First off, the stock shafts in the Vapors are crap, for me anyway. I put the Vapor heads in my White Tie for my "real" comparisons. And what I found out, was that while they're good heads, they never gave me a "holy smokes" moment. The Flex felt and sounded the best to me out of all the models, but none of the models were better than my CT 2.0, or at least, not enough to make a switch.

I didn't walk out empty handed though. The GS "pro" knows who I am and that I'm a bit of a Nike fan boy. He tells me to keep an open mind and hands me a Ping G30 LS model and 30 seconds later, I knew it would be my next driver.

Sorry for the somewhat "negative" review, but that's my experience.

yeah I'd be interested as well. The Pro feels really light in my hands and its causing me to get real quick. I'm sure I'll get used to it but this is my only complaint thus far.

Played 18 holes on the simulator this morning at Pine Creek. Really tough, narrow tree lined fake course. 14 of 14 fairways hit with an average distance of 295 yards. Vapor Pro is the best driver I've ever played. X stiff shaft isn't here yet but it looks like I may not need it. Here's a pic of the wife hitting a laser Vapor Pro Combo 8 iron. Nice pic, good for her. So you think the S+ 60 stiff holding up to your SS? I know I asked before, because yours was around mine, and I have the same shaft. I was thinking of trying a 70 or Xstiff, but maybe not after your results. Thanks.

I think the shaft is taking a little getting used to but the way I hit it this morning, I might be loving it now. The extra stiff is still on the way so I will post the difference once I try it out. Should be here this week. Ya, the wife's swing puts mine to shame. Haha. She's added 15 yards from the Covert 2.0 to her Vapor Speed driver. She shot an 80 today on a pretty tough course with all Vapor clubs.

tested the Pro today for the first time
its a VERY STRAIGHT driver for me, holy crap
but the spin wasn't that awesome

looks good, feels good, sounds good, spins too much
misses were over 3000, good strikes were 2600-2800
guessing a shaft change would address a little bit of this, but really not interested in spending $600 ++ on a driver testing shafts
if i could get the spin down in the 2100-2300 range id be happy

I have a new BBa 815 w the Speeder 665 (that I'm considering taking back...maybe) and my misses were better than the Pro in the 2700 range, good swings were 2100 ish
not sure if its fair to write off the Pro w the stock shaft tho, based on how freaking straight this club is
its windy here a lot, I'm dead in the water w high 2800-3200 spin out of a driver

anyone try last years TiNi in the Pro head?

[/quote]I have last years Tini in the Pro head and so far, so good. The adapter will heavier, check your swing weights when you put the shaft in the vapor pro. Mine came out to D6 but after cutting 1/2" off was D3ish. Very accurate driver and when you get the middle its LONG!

is the shaft available as a custom order w the new adaptor?
I was swinging about 6mph slower (around 100mph, usually 106-ish) than I usually do today .. .fighting a lower ab tear that's wreaking havoc on my swing right now
so distance was hard to judge, didn't get much out there today, maybe like 240-250 yds max
based on how straight I was, maybe I should ALWAYS swing that slow and put the damn ball in the fwy!! LOL!

HAHA yeah, the game is easier from the short grass! You can order the shaft with the new adapter, 90$ up charge I believe. Or plan B, if you already have the shaft just swap the adapters.

I'm pretty sure the uncharge is at the discretion of the pro shop but I looked in their book and thats what it was, 90$. I took last years shaft so I ended up with no up charge so I can't be 100% on that but from what I saw in their book its $90.

Gave the pro and the flex a go today at my local shop, stock S+ is beyond ridiculous. So freaking whippy! Felt like a Senior flex. Unfortunately they do not carry any extra shafts with the Nike adapter. I'm not a huge swing speed guy either! 107-112..nothing like some of the guys on here.

But besides the shaft being garbage, they look absolutely fantastic! Prob the best looking club I've ever seen.

I had session today with the pro and the flex. Loved the feel of the pro however spin numbers and dispersement was way better with the flex. Not sure I can bag the flex though as I was pretty much set on the pro. Perhaps different shaft combo may help the cause. I found the flex to turn over rather easy and go left which for me isnt good as left is my miss. So left plus a miss equals X left , three off the tee. Hahaha.

What to do???? Try different shafts I suppose.

I'd get that bag if it was a 5 way bag. Not a fan of the 14 way/each club its own spot.

But overall the bag is sick. Looks good with vapor clubs.

For all the guys saying the Pro spins to much what is your AoA? I get it may spin too much for some and no driver is going to fit everyone, but my assumption is a lot of the swings are causing high spin numbers.

Not bashing anyone but providing more about your swing other than just swing speed and spin would be more beneficial to the community

You might be right. I'm not seeing high spin numbers at all. 2000-2200 average.

I am seeing around 2400, so far its been a great driver for me, the S+ stiff fits me perfectly, my SS is about 105-108. I will get a better feel once I play a few rounds with it, but I love my CT 2.0, and so far this seems as good if not better.

pretty sure I hit down on the driver, something I have ALWAYS done
not a ton, but is usually why my spin numbers a tad higher than I like

I'm going back in today, as I was pressed for time yesterday
going to try the Pro again, but w some of last years offerings for shafts:

Speeder 661
KK TiNi 60
OBAN Gold
they MIGHT have an S+ X, but I'm not sure

as i mentioned above, I like the driver head A LOT
but about 500-600 more spin than I want
I was launching it around 14-16 as well w the stock S+ 60

Part of me is thinking to get the D+ 60 tipped 1/2" and Id be ok, but it would be a blind order
and i am not a huge fan of that anymore

Has anyone had a chance to hit the Flex hybrid yet? I hit the 3 drivers yesterday as well as the Flex FWY but didn't hit the hybrid as all PGASS had were Regular flex demos.

As a sidebar I found the Diamana S 60X/70X to be very stable with pretty solid dispersion (115-118MPH) in both the Pro driver and Flex FWY. Spin was a touch high at around 2600 but the dispersion was so good (you could drop the 9-10 drives with the Pro into a bath tub) it has me deciding whether or not to order a set to compare with the 815's when the come in. I hit the 815DBD against it yesterday, the same version I ordered with Rogue 60X, and the 815DBD was 8-10 yards longer consistently but the dispersion wasn't anywhere near as good as the Vapor Pro with Diamana S.

If I had half a brain I would order the Nike and be in the fairway all day but I'm a power hungry moron who apparently enjoys punching out of the woods 1-2 times per round.
