Correct, VPC 4-6 and VP 7-PW. When we got these and the Srixon 745's in the store we taped up the 7 iron in each set to see how they felt, you know, so we could tell the customers..
And whereas I knew the VPC was going to be great in the 7, the VP BLEW ME AWAY in how easy it was to hit, never thought once about HAVING to make a great swing on it. Normally, yeah, MB's start at 8 iron for me, have played two progressive sets where the 8-PW was a blade, no issues for me, but the 7 here was equivalent to hitting the 8 iron blade. No brainer. Just way easier than an MB.
Was in fairway alot today, but hit a great 7 iron to 12' out of the rough, and out of the fairways turf interaction is excellent.

Gah! I'm feeling my nike itch and these Vapor Pro Combos are looking might fine.

Someone talk me down. How do they compare to the VR Pro Combos? Has anyone hit these against the 714 AP2s?

I have hit them against the AP2 714 and I prefer the Vapor PC. Understand, this is only my opinion. Please hit them both if you can.

I found the feel off the face of the Vapors to be less clicky and found them to be more forgiving as well. To my eye, they look better at address too. I'm not sure why, but the AP2 has always been kind of short and fat to my eye.

That said, I have placed an order for some Vapor PC with Modus 3 120 S and will have my AP2 on the BST soon.

For those guys who ordered a mixed set...did you have your lofts adjusted given that the VPC is 1* stronger club-for-club? If so did you go 1* soft on the VPC or 1* strong on the Pro? Was hitting the 6i's today and was poking the VPC out a little less than 5yds further than the Pro which I assume was ~50% the additional pop and ~50% the stronger loft. I want to limit the gap I'm going to have between my 6/7.

Just finished building my new set of vapor pcs with Nippon protos! Taking them out for 36 tomorrow for a test run. I haven't played in over a week due to being dumb and pulling the heads before my epoxy and such got here. Took over a week with priority but now they are cured and ready as am I.

It's a good thing I don't live up north or else I'd go nuts in the winter.

I just ordered VPC 4-7 and VP 8-PW. Planning to play the Pros at 1* strong to match the VPC. But that's solely based on the numbers. Not actual testing.

ACtually the exact same shafts for me haha. What have your ST weighed at? after cutting mine to length mine were just about 100 G I have mine in stiff, but I saw someone else who had these and they had them in X but theirs weighed around 110-112. seems like a big gap between flexes

I have not cut mine to length. Mine are X flex. Think they're around 114g uncut. Don't have the heads yet, so haven't messed with the shafts.

I only went VP in the 9 and PW, didn't adjust the lofts and has not created any unmanageable gaps for me.

I like my current wedge system. Definitely gives me more options. I kept the 4 iron at its current 23 degree loft, to help minimize the gap between 4 iron and 5 wood. The rest of the irons have been bent 1 degree weak to match up to my old VR Pro Combo lofts.

I switched out of 714 AP2's straight into the Pro's w/ PXi 6.0's. Never looking back.

It's hideous, imo. It reminds me of early to mid 90s athletic wear -- bold, clashing colors, drop shadow font, a total absence of design sensibility.

So played my first round today with the Nippon prototype ST shafts. First I'm happy to say that the heads all stayed on which makes me happy as I built the set haha. Second is that man they are smooth. Flight is high and spin seems increases from the dg pros I was playing I was able to play shots low or high though which was great. Might weight felt really nice as I was able to make a smooth swing and still get my distance instead of trying to kill it and make it go.
