I had a chance to play a round with my new 60TS and it's flat out impressive. I'll admit thy I was skeptical of the grind and didn't love last years version. I was pretty well set on buying the DS but went TS when they didn't have a 60DS. The TS is a different beast - it's almost like cheating its so good.

I was able to play low spinning shots, softer lobs and it was a delight out of the bunker. Should have made one but it rattled off the pin and didn't drop.

All I can say is that it's a great purchase and I'm no longer skeptical. Fired a real tidy bogey free 69 this morning thanks to a couple key saves.

Drove by a local driving range today on my way home from golf with the slim hopes that they might have some in stock (this place always carry a lot of gear and are sometimes the first shop to get new stuff in here in Vancouver). To my surprise they had 4 Square Grinds that they just got in, so I picked up the 52* and 56*, and they look amazing! Can't wait to get them out on the course tomorrow!

Hope that they get the Toe Sweep or Dual Sole 60* sometime this week before my tournament on the weekend!

I agree. When I first saw the Engage wedges, I thought they looked silly (the badge, that is). In person, far more subtle and the black strip isn't so garish. That said, I have the first generation toe sweep 60 degree and it's very hard to beat. The Engage series at least softens the toe bulge.

Guys using the Toe Sweep in 58 or 60: What are the conditions of the courses you play? Are the Toe Sweeps good on flops and from tight lies, or just from the rough and bunker? Also, I remember reading that the old TS doesn't go as far on full swings as the standard grinds, is that the case with the engages? Thanks.

I have the first gen TS in 58. My home course is a links style course with hard fairways and soft sand. I have very little difficulty chipping and pitching around the greens of this course. About a half mile down the road, is a parkland, short, narrower course with thicker rough and softer fairways. The other courses in the county basically fall somewhere in between. The TS is the most versatile lob wedge I've ever used.

Love the engage line so much that I hate my PW!
I'm with you... ok, maybe I don't "hate" my PW, but I know I would like the Engage better. I had some time at lunch to go out and hit them after my reshaft with Modus 125 Wedge... they are so unbelievably awesome... and I hit the 54* TS much better today too on full shots, which was a huge relief.
Let me re word it and Nike if your are listening.

More along the lines of a 48 bent to 47 or 46 :) they have the tooling complete. Tour issue only. Up to the higher ups at corporate if they want to make them available to the general public. I don't understand why they wont eventually.

you and I'm sure plenty of people will jump and disagree with me, but please believe me when I say (I used to work in corporate/retail) that it's not worth making for the public, it's not even a money maker. wedges themselves don't make nike that much money, a 48 would be the bottom seller (or near the bottom) of the engage wedges.

we always liked to say nike is a shoe company, apparel second, and everything else is a marketing expense.

Olivas Park is the links course. Got completely remodeled and overhauled about 8 years ago, now called Olivas Links. Buena was slightly remodeled and renovated a few years before that. Olivas is my favorite, though. The combination of your surroundings, the course setup, and the fact that it's rarely slow there always makes for a good time.

I can under stand that could be the case with some products. However if the tooling is done per Cota's comments, then there would be very little cost for additional heads when ever the next production run is scheduled for the tour inventory.

The additional heads go to their custom build center and are custom order only. So you have some minor handling/inventory costs but nothing else should be required as shafts and grips are already "in house" for other custom orders. I agree that they would not be significant contributors to the bottom line but their sales could contribute something to help offset the tooling cost for tour only production.
