Ok..I put this post in the EF thread as well, but I'll put this in here to get things going...since I don't have the $ to get all the wedges...lol.

Someone needs to battle the EF vs Engage wedges. Both seem to be the best combination of feel, spin, and versatility.

Edit: add the MD2 Tour to the test to make it fair.

...and if they have the coin, the PM grind.

Ok...get to it.

First day today with the 60 dual sole after a year with the MD2 Tour. Worked around the greens, no shots longer than 35 yards. Dual sole leading edge seems lower to the ground to my eye despite less bounce (9 on MD2 tour, 13 on dual sole). It rained all day today so I did notice some digging with the dual sole that I hadn't noticed before with the MD2, bust this could've been due to the soft ground. I'm a sweeper anyway and rarely take a divot, and moving the ball forward eliminated all digging. Dual sole spun significantly more for me than the MD2 Tour. Greens were soft today, but spin was much more with the Nike than I had experienced with the Cally, even in similar conditions. Biggest difference I noticed was out of the rough, flier and buried lies where I was expecting some release were one hop and stopping. This really allowed me to play these shots aggressively and fly them all the way to the hole because they were grabbing so fast. I like the grind on the Nike more than the MD2, and I've been a Callaway fan going back to the X-forged C grind. Feel wise the Callaway may have felt a hair softer, but the Nike has a dense, solid feel that I really, really liked. The grind on the 60 has me thinking of bending a 58 dual sole down to 56, but I'm also really tempted to experiment with the Toe sweep. Nike hit it out of the park with these, I can officially say I'm a convert.

Still playing! No hole outs, but good contact from tight lies. Which I think the dual sole is best for.

It's great when you can control the wedge. Still getting used to it, coming from VR forged wedges.

Little more time to get dialed them in.

Played again tonight. Stuck my 52 every time I hit it. I am playing in Ireland next week and think I might bite the bullet and pick up the 60 tomorrow. I don't think I can put it off any longer.

Those were the few where I was getting some digging yesterday, otherwise it was foolproof around the greens. I did manage to find some tight lies that were drier and the grind was perfect, I could open the face and hit high shots that stopped dead, or square the face and hit the low, checking shot. Now I'm really tempted to try the toe sweep at 56...must....resist!

finally got to use my 52 SS and 58 TS last night in a round, was a pretty good time. i put 3 chips/shots inside of a foot or two with the 58 TS from tough lies, then from about 60 out hit a nice shot with my 52 SS and one bounce, stopped about 4 feet below the hole, perfectly.

i did chunk one with my 58 TS, was a light on short grass, and needed to get it in the air quickly over part of a bush, just didn't get it cleanly.

looking forward to getting out tomorrow again with them, i've really been struggling with my short game, so these and focusing on fixing what i'm doing will hopefully get my ready for the big golf trip/tournament in august.

Anybody using the 58* square model? I have it narrowed down to the DS and the Square in the loft. I do use that loft for full shots, so that's why I'm not lookin at the TS. I don't hit a lot of flop shots, so I'm not to worried too much about how it performs with that shot, but I will still open the face occasionally with the 58*. Thanks.
I would still try the TS. I have yet to see anyone with a significant problem on full shots when fitting. If someone is losing the ball right, like more than a couple of yards, there is either something way off in the lie, or their swing. It's really hard to curve a lob wedge. The ball is not in the air very long, and it takes an incredibly large face/path discrepancy to shift the spin axis appreciably (higher loft=more backspin, meaning a lot more sidespin is needed to shift spin axis, plus as loft increases there is a lot more slippage, especially laterally along the groves). A 5 yard curve with a lob wedge is about the equivalent of a 25 yard curve with a 7 iron. Try it out, as long as the lie isn't way off (like 3-4* flat), you won't have a problem... It may or may not be the club for you, but the full shot issue really isn't an issue.
+1. You're really denying yourself the versatility of the TS if you take it out of the mix before even hitting it. It really does depend on the golfer and their swing, as well as the club specs. I have mine bent 1* flat and have only had one full shot so far end up right of where I was aiming it.
I'll keep the TS in mind then when I get a chance to look for a 58*. I have the 54* Square, and I'm a big fan of it. I have the tendency to get pretty steep when I play, so that's my concern with the TS. I like the looks of all 3 clubs, so that's not a concern. I've played the original VR Forged 56/10 bent to 58* for the past couple of seasons, so the bite is no longer there. I'm just looking for a grind that plays similar to the one I'm used to. Thanks again for the input.
If you look up Tai's Review of these wedges, I think I remember him saying in the lob wedge slot, the DS dug the most. So far, I've had no issues with digging on my TS. I've hit a couple chips off some tight links lies last week, and I found I could hit square and open faced low spinners easily, and the bounce on the toe helps a little bit to prevent digging. Almost like having the forgiveness of extra bounce, but it's not in the heel, so you can still open the face up with ease.
I went ahead and bought the 58* TS. I'm going to put it in play tomorrow (weather permitting). Probably going to lay up a lot to distances so I can use it a lot. Really looking forward to it.

I was able to get out today with the 58TS today. It was a very wet day today, so contact with all clubs was hit or miss. I didn't get to chip around like I normally do before a round, so it took me a little while to get used to the feel, weight, and turf interaction of the club. Overall, I'm very impressed with the club. I hit some really good shots with the club when I just committed to it. Very good spin overall, and I like how the club got through the fairway and thick rough. Looking forward to getting more practice time and rounds in with it over the next few weeks.

And it's already rusting after 1 round. It rained off and on throughout the round, so that helped it a lot.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
