Adding a 25 degree hybrid to the bag

@el_hefty : IMHO it varies depending on situation (e.g. what's your window/height of over-hanging branches)... i like to punch out using my cobra F7 ~21* hybrid (often will choke-down on the grip, for control... 1st priority= solid contact & keep it low). Or using a retro-Raylor.
I find a hybrid punch-out = more forgiveness/margin for error, vs a mid-iron.

I had always disliked hybrids because I fight a hook but I absolutely love the titleist 818H1 I have it set flat with a weight in the toe. I replaced my 4 iron with one and it is so much easier to hit into a green and I find it a lot easier to work left and right around trouble and with extra loft it is a great punch out club.

I tried my first punch out with my 2h earlier today. It worked well, but I do feel that if I needed to curve the punch out much, the iron (4-5 with a closed/open face) would be much easier to do. Guess I’ll have to practice that shot when ranges open back up. But I am not going to lie, I love my 4 iron for those shots and being able to hook/cut them around stuff is awesome.

Can't recommend one over the other as I haven't used those models but I made the change from 5i to 25* and my 25* is one of my favorite clubs in my bag.

I've played 5 (26 deg) and 6 (30 deg) hybrids for several years now. They're not going anywhere. I currently have Ping G400's, but will look at the G410's once the price comes down to Earth. I like the option of flattening the lie, as they can be hook machines at times. My longest iron is a 7 iron. I use it for punch outs, but the ball has to be played way back in the stance. 'No problem with a bit of practice.

My next longest clubs are a 7w (adjusted to 6w) and 9w (adjusted to 8w).

I finally added a Apex 19 5 hybrid (26) to my bag last year, awesome club. Unlike most hybrids on the market, you can work it both way and hit it slightly lower if you want it.

Have played a variety of hybrids for years. Favorites for some some time were Ping G 400s for their consistency. Not the longest, but generally straight and went the distance I expected. Now have 4 and 5 Callaway Mavrik Max hybrids in the bag and very happy with them. Longer, generally very accurate (though I can hook anything from anywhere at times), and better than anything else I've played. Trying to resist the urge to buy a 6 hybrid.
