I forgot to add that I covered the Dynamic Gold shaft with white light weight heat shrink which provides a nice finishing touch in my opinion.

That is amazing did you just hit it with a torch? How did you keep the black triangle in tack? I want to that with mine. I low the raw flat look of mine but i don't care for the rust.

 

In terms of the black triangle. To be honest it's not really still black, it's torched like the rest of the wedge however I didn't sand and polish that area so the finish from the heat kept it a matte finish rather than shiny mirror like. It really looks cool.

Put OIL on that ASAP, cause it will still rust over the torch finish!!!! It happens with carbon putters so I wouldn't expect any less with your wedge.

Was out at the Dean and Deluca most of this past week; found some "dated" Nike things at one of the Colonial merchandise areas.

 

I remember the pitch mark repair tool coming to retail a few years ago but don't remember the large ball markers. Also met Greg and picked up a WRX poker chip.

Yeah i torched it. However I first sandblasted it then hit it with 180,220,350,600,1200 sand paper bringing it to a shiny finish. Then using several different spiral sewn buffing wheels attached to a bench grinder I applied jewelers rouge, (black Emory, Tripoli, and then white) polishing it to a mirror finish. Then the trick is to carefully degrease it being careful to not get any finger prints on it or else the oils in your skin will leave a residue after torching. Basically, degrease, degrease, and degrease some more. Then lastly apply the heat.

 

I perfected this by practice practice practice, so don't expect it to look like this your first time. Just if you don't like the final result hit with the sand paper again which will erase for lack of a better word the color from the heat. Don't get discouraged, just keep at it and have fun learning from your previous mistakes.

 

Ya the mirror finish looks amazing lots of hard work. I'm soo jealous each time i click on on this thread :)

Quick question for my fellow Nike heads. Just ran into a set of demo VPC's in great condition. The damn shafts are R300's. Is it worth the additional $160 to swap out my S300's from my VR PC's into those and then trade in the VR PC's?

If you have to re-shaft irons, it is hard to ever actually get all your money back on them, but the VPCs are very solid irons

I don't think so, Fisher's wedge looks too perfect and the toolbox would be close as it looks like theres some serious heel relief on it but it's a toe sweep, correct?

Yep, it's a toe sweep. Looks pretty much identical to my 54 toe sweep so pretty sure it's not a R grind.

Anyone played the Vapor Fly Pro vs the Vapor Fly Driver? I hit my out of town buddies Vapor Fly and liked it but I haven't done and real comparisons. I picked up the VFP last year on sale and am really wanting a VF I think. I am shooting around 90 and have too many miss hits for the VFP I think even though I love the club. If you have used both in your opinion would it be worth picking up a VF head?
