What's your wedge loft combo?

Hit em good

Recommended Posts

I go a little somthing like this: I25 PW @ 46* with bounce grind
Glide GW @ 50* SS with front edge grind
Glide SW @ 56* SS with half moon grind (high bounce)
Gorge LW @ 60* TS with WRX combo grind (low bounce)

My PW and GW are mainly for full shots only. The SW is used for just about all chips, pitches, and sand shots. The LW is used any time i'm short sided in the sand or what ever the case may be. This seems to be working the best for me right now. I will say that I still have to get more short game practice in.

50, 54 & 60 for me. PW is 47. I like having the tighter gaps as I get a little more precision from 130 yards and in.

PW (45*) the one with the iron set AP2s, then I play Vokey's at 50*, 56* (bent to 55*), and 60*.
Whenever I need to sure up the top of my bag with an extra fairway wood or hybrid I pull the 60 out. Although this thread gave me an idea to cut down on a wedge and do something along the lines of 46, 51, 57. But the reality is I won't pull the trigger on that.

46* / 50* / 54* / 58*

I played the old school 56*/60* combo for about 18-19 years and I just picked up the 54*/58* a few weeks ago. It's made a huge difference (providing more versatility) in my short game approach.

I love golf

I've been trying some different combos over the last couple of months and have decided to stick with the 47/51/56/60 combo. The 4w/7w/4h combo at the top of the bag fills all the gaps just fine leaving me with room for 4 wedges.

I was testing many combination.
I hit my P wedge 145 so I put 50 as my gap wedge.

48 - 54 - 58

It's a little strange. I played 46, 50, 54, 58 last year and it seemed like too many wedges.

I'm currently 47/54/58

I'm thinking of putting a 60 in for high pitch shots, and 56 for medium to long pitch shots. No gap, as I'm better with partial pw shots. So, pw/56/60.

How does this sound?
What's your combo?
I play my PW / 52 / 56 / 60

I find myself using each and every club quite often, I never feel that one slot of my bag is wasted.

I use my 52 for a full shot and more of a 50 yard shot that I want to bite quite hard.

I use my 56 for most shots around the green, my favourite shot with this is a 3/4 shot into the pin.

I use my 60 out of all green sound bunkers and tight lies, I also use it when there is no green to work with.

What exactly is stopping you having all of the wedges, is your bag already fully?

PW is 46 for the MP-4's and 47 for the Apex MB's, but beyond that I have the same exact lofts in the bag regardless of which irons I am playing. Both travel 130 yards give or take (I can "nuke" one 140 yards or "smooth" it to as low a distance as about 120).
GW - 50 degrees and travels around 115 yards full power. This is my 115-100 yard club. This is the chip and run and some pitch shots based on the distance and speed of the greens.
SW - 56 degrees and travels around 90 yards on a full swing. Cannot really "nuke" one with this wedge, but it is more for sand and general flops around the green.

When I added the gap wedge to cover a yardage issue (my old TA1 PW was 110 and the 9 iron was 130, the new 9 is 140-145 and PW is 130 as stated above), I removed the 60 degree wedge from my bag. I have found that I literally only used it maybe once every 6 rounds or so which makes it a waste of space in my bag. IF I get out to play some fast greens with thick rough and lots of tight pins, I might throw it back into the bag and see what I can do with it. Given I am in SoCal I figure there won't be any rough in a couple more months so no rush to put it in the bag.

You should have just edited one of your previous posts lol. Weird gaps. Neither the S or K is made to be opened up at all, what do you hit high shots with?
Off thicker stuff I use the k and I can open the s if needed to. If a tight lie I will bump it in the bank

The k is mainly for bunkers and deep rough. Otherwise using the s grinds. J is good when wet out though. I did keep the 54f for Florida golf

Shocked you haven't picked up the new j grind on vokey switz

Had a TVD 60 K for a while, couldn't open it up so I got rid of it. Basically have the J grind in a couple different scratch wedges. I have way too many wedges right now but actually am not really rotating any in except I'm going to try an epon 56. All combos are 52/56/60.
