Now, I need to figure out in the next a few hours if this is cast then skim milled or 100% CNC milled.
I'm curious about this as well. Seems there is conflicting information. My first guess based on the initial pics was cast then skim milled. But the $450 price tag makes you think it would be CNC milled. Maybe Nike used a contract manufacturer in China to do the CNC milling and build because the Oven cannot handle the volume? No clue..

Anyone have any insight??

My money is on cast then skim milled. Here are my reasons

- A few years ago, a 100% CNC milled LE 001 costs $499. 001 can actually be CNC milled without any hand ground, it is impossible to achieve Rory 006 looks without hand ground. Hence, I think it is casted.

- $450 is actually pretty low to 100% CNC mill Rory 006. Bettinardi BB0 is 100% CNC milled and does not look as soft as these. If people at Oven had to hand ground these 1000 heads, I doubt the price is merely at $450.

I'm just having a really hard time to purchase a cast putter at $450.

Whatever it is, I want it.

It could be made of space grade alien material. I don't care.

From my review of the available photos, it looks like the neck is cast and friction welded to the body. But the body looks 100% milled. This is exactly how the 001 Method is made (I have one).

Since the technology is the same as the $249 001 Method, it makes sense they can still make a lot of money selling at $450.

Thanks for the explanation.

What I'm trying to argue is it's easy to CNC mill a 001, but it's almost impossible to 100% CNC mill a Rory 006. Maybe it is. After all, Scotty IBRM is also 100% CNC milled and they look pretty good to my eyes.

Wldchld22 I also sent a tweet to Nike for you. It's the least I could do for you and this thread! And congrats to you both (MNnikeguy) for getting the putter. Hope I snag one in the morning! Kid on Christmas Eve! Can't sleep.

This is my first time posting in either of these threads, but I have followed along for the last 6 months or so. I was never really on board with trying to get one of these because I figured that there would be very few released, or it would be just to high priced to get one. It seems that neither is the case so I am going to try to grab one. The look of the putter is amazing. Congrats wldchld22 and MNnikeguy on getting one. You both deserve it. This is a real classy move by Nike.

If it is like the original Method Milled line, the necks will be cast and welded onto a milled head. One of my biggest issues with the original Method 001 was this fact as you could clearly see that the neck was cast. No two were the exact same shape or had the exact same lines.

It must be a cost thing because I would think NIKE has the technology (CNC programming/machines) to be able to mill a one piece head.

Make sense they would do this release the same way. I'm not a fan of the 001 shape, so I've never paid attention to that detail. In some of the pics we've seen of this 006 the neck def looks cast. Which matches with the 001 release.

Some definitely available today, rb. How many depends on Nike's method of allocation.
