Alright I'm officially obsessed with this putter. Reached out to Dallas Golf but it looks like they do not have any way of tracking down any naked heads. I need a naked b2-01 in my life in the worst way lol.

Dallas golf ended up getting old Nike inventory after they shut down their hard goods division. That meant some unreleased head neck combinations were out there.

I contacted them and was able to track down a naked b2 head. Very excited. Is the slant neck the long neck or the plumber as well? I’m considering making this a long neck, going to see if I want it to be an alternate to my current longnecks or join them.

My naked B2|01 came today! I was extremely excited and I have to say, so far the initial excitement has been met or exceeded by satisfaction. It’s exactly what I had hope for.

While it’s easily the heaviest putter I’ve ever owned (it weighs in at 343.4 grams) it’s very comfortable and easy to swing, and the clean look at address gives me lots of confidence to trust my target line and worry about it, and not looking too much behind the ball, if that makes any sense.

if I were to nitpick, I would say the bumpers are slightly big. But not obscenely. From address you can’t tell, but looking at it straight on or from the bottom side they come off as chunky. But they are pleasantly rounded, unlike my TA Milled there in the back which has a flatness to it’s bumpers that I have never liked as much as the more on the nose John Byron Dale Head take on the Anser.

I suppose the only thing to do now is game it! It’s officially going to be my 2020 gamer, and if it plays its cards right well beyond. It also has a nickname: Pajamas. I’m going to have to figure out how I want to stamp that one at a later date.

I also need to give a special shoutout to Dallas Golf for their over the top customer service in finding and building this head for me. They looked in their stock, found a still in plastic naked head and shafted it along with a brand new Origin head over and Method pistol grip, as well as bent it to my spec, and not because I asked them to, they suggested it. I was happy just to find the head! Can’t recommend them enough, they’re great peoples.

Thanks man! I did the same today and they said they had one more no sightline putter in stock! I grabbed it right away...no headcover though. They cut it to 34" for me and installed an Origin grip as well.

Best part though is I was able to use a coupon code so it came out to like $120 shipped.

Nice! They are legitimately some of the best to deal with. I love this thing so far, I'm so excited to get a full round in this weekend and see how it performs out in the wild. I had 32 putts for my last round, hoping to be under 30 this time out.

This will be a novelty putter for me to switch between my mallets, but I had a RORS a few years back and it was sweet. You'll like it im sure.

Apparently these are THE OVEN putter heads meant for the tour, unlike the retail sightline models.

I was trying to figure that out, the serial number that is etched into the sole (I assume that's what it is?) starts with a CH I believe, not an "o" like the 00x generation ones, but I couldn't see how these were not Oven heads. does that change the construction of them vs. retail heads too?

I was also a bit surprised the Mod90 was as big as it is but I would encourage you to give it a chance for at least a few rounds. The extra blade length and perimeter weighting really help on mishits. The old bullseyes were great if you hit them on the sweet spot but man if you missed it even by a little bit you were toast. I have found my Mod90 to be reasonably forgiving on mishits (not super forgiving mind you) but when you hit it on the face, the feel is like flushing a forged blade, just pure.

According to an old post on here: Normally Oven heads all had O-serial numbers since they were hand-made at the oven, but some of the heads - like these no sightline heads - were not made at the oven but made at the same place where the retail heads were made with the exception that these all got shipped to the oven for use on tour, instead of the retail assembly warehouse like the other retail heads from that factory. Hence the CH and other prefix codes on them.

Gotcha, so basically they expected more demand on tour than the oven could handle I take it?

One of the things about my putter collection is that, with the exception of a pro platinum Newport 2, it’s very quirky. The backstory behind these heads fits in very well and I appreciate that Not only do they fit my eye extremely well and are by far the most “forgiving” putter I’ve ever owned, they’re also just not the “norm.” Does that make me a hipster? Probably. But I brought it in to work today to show my 3 coworkers who I play with and talk golf with all the time and their first reaction was “I didn’t know Nike ever made anything like this” which I found very satisfying lol.

Not sure if its due to demand, or just that not ever tour pro got a 'hand made' head and some got something like this from a factory batch run with certain cosmetic specs not available to the public. I'm sure the Nike tour truck could make on the fly mods like sight line and sight dots as well with these naked heads for a pro if they chose, and then did lie adjustments as well at the same time.

First round with the Method was Sunday. Shot a meh 81, but putted great. Putter had great feel, roll was consistent and brilliant. Still not quite used to the extra weight but otherwise I'm in love.

Getting close to my Method Origin B1|01 needing a new grip. I've searched for a counterflex grip, but been unable to find any. The counterflex weight is too large for the SuperStroke counter core grips.

Is my best bet to get the SuperStroke grip an play around with the weights to try an match the current balance point of the putter? Any suggestions welcome.

Could someone tell me what I have here? No sight lines and no serial number. Weighs about 352 grams. Version 6.0 of this rebuild will be with a stability shaft. Thx

That’s a prototype of the Rory 006. The Oven means it’s a completely milled head and tour issue.

Doesn't seem to be enough Method 003 love on this thread, so thought I'd post the best putter I have ever used:

 

Picked it up off eBay at the start of last season as something to try, took it out once and it has never left my bag since. Look and feel are just what I'm looking for, but what I can't over is how well the ball rolls even on sketchy greens. Putts seem to hold their line better than my old Scotty ever did.

Judging by the initials on the face it's Carly Booth's old putter - and no, she isn't having it back. It shouldn't work, being 33.5 inches and me at 6 foot 1, but it's perfect for me in every way.

Sorry Scotty, but I think Mike Taylor's got you beat.

I like the shape thats for sure, but would need an extension, new grip and loft/lie done to really see how i like it.

I had the shaft and grip installed as well as lie angle adjusted from Dallas Golf and it is working really well. the 3* loft seems to work well for me, though I'm not 100% sure this is stock loft as it's not an OTR head. To my naked eye it looks about right though.
