I am normally a 58g Golf Pride Tour Tradition guy.

If you want the same size as this grip take a tour tradition and build it up. It’s pretty similar. I’ve done it with two layers of double sided tape. Could probably use a few more.

its actually the opposite, I love my tour tradition and scared this would be too big and also play with the feel of the the putter too much.

I just wanted a nike grip and found these grips for sale on EBay.

Would have been Dave Franklin and John Hatfield that worked on putters, although I definitely share the affection for MT- fortunate enough to have a few wedges he made for me and a Method 001 flowneck made for me by Dave Franklin.

also comparison to the Tour tradition. I am ordering a t CT Tour for my Artisan putter which is at 370 and so used to the heavy weight with the Tour Tradition.how does it feel for you? can you compare to other grips?

Like a thicker ping blackout, more stable at the back end essentially. This is by far my heaviest head at 346g's, and I think I would struggle with the skinnier blackouts that I usually use on all of my other putters (which are all in the 330's). This grip balances out very well with that head weight imo.

thanks for the reply. think I am just going to stick with what I am used to, changing the shaft will be enough of a change plus in the future you might not be able to get more of the method grips.

Got a good deal on this (roughly $100) and am probably going to buy it. Can anyone tell me more about this and if it's rare (I know "the oven" was nike's tour/development plant)?  Anyone have more information on the putter, the guy I bought it from said there's no sight lines on the top? I'm hoping I found a good deal on this.

Same one found in This thread without markings on the top.

looking at the bottom, it looks exactly like the method core putters but without the insert/with the old regular method face/polymer pattern. Would really love to hear more about this one, Can’t seem to find anything about it online other than that thread

Your photos aren't coming through, but is it the same style as the putter I posted on page 177? If so, I don't know much about it and I wasn't able to find much. My guess was a one off prototype.

Oh alright, thanks for letting me know. I tried attaching them instead of just pasting them in the message now. But it is not. It’s got screw in weights on the heel/toe, and is naked on the top with no sight dot/line.

EDIT: I just saw the post you were talking about (missed it the first time) and yes, it’s a 001 version of that prototype. On the bottom it looks exactly like the method core putters.

Maybe we had sister putters. Mine is gone, found out the value is quite high and wasn't gaming it, so I flipped it. (sold for 280)

Very nice. I might buy it with the backup of just flipping it for a profit. I’m sure buying it from a place that you wouldn’t think for it to be, to selling to collectors if I don’t game it. The guy wanted to up the price on me a bit (or I thought he was more interested in bargaining but he was firm on the 130 list price).

like I said, I found the link of the prototype line that they came out with with all of these, so it’s definitely from the same line, I just don’t know what they are exactly or if it was released or what.

I tried to find another putter like it online, but I couldn't. So it definitely wasn't mass produced. There may be only a couple out there, or there could be hundreds.

Little thread revive- picked up this Nick Watney Proto with an Accra graphite shaft. Has anyone else seen the Nike logo on the neck before? 1.jpg.e0fb2cd103b8296ca6b3d58d31275728.jpg

Wow you found one that doesn't have the grooves cut out. The polymer is there so you see the black lines but there are no milled grooves, it's just straight milling across the face. Would love to find one of those. If you ever watched the mic'd-up event in China with Tiger and Rory you heard them discuss this and they both said they were playing this one with no grooves cut into the face. I think Tiger called it "faux grooves"
