Wow you found one that doesn't have the grooves cut out. The polymer is there so you see the black lines but there are no milled grooves, it's just straight milling across the face. Would love to find one of those. If you ever watched the mic'd-up event in China with Tiger and Rory you heard them discuss this and they both said they were playing this one with no grooves cut into the face. I think Tiger called it "faux grooves"

What can the experts tell me about this putter? Serial number is: KK.2.11.1P. How about the head cover? ... Its got an AM&E logo on the inside. Thanks!

Looks pretty straight forward. 001 head with a slant neck, and what looks like added tungsten weights on the extreme toe and heel for added headweight.

Do you know anything about the cover? Is it rare? I’ve never seen an AM&E Nike... and I’ve had a bunch of people reach out to me to try and buy it. I’m not selling any of it right now. Thanks!

How do I translate the serial number initials.month.year.??? What does the 1p mean?

EDIT: I just saw the post you were talking about (missed it the first time) and yes, it’s a 001 version of that prototype. On the bottom it looks exactly like the method core putters. 

was this milled as a 1 piece head, or was the neck welded on and then bent and sanded? I have an Artisan with the same neck style

The slant neck was welded on and sanded. The plumbers necks are 1 piece I believe.

Yes, from what I’ve learned it was made for Kiz to try and get him to change brands. They added the tungsten to make it heavier for him. Lots of custom features on this one.

That’s awesome. I’m finally in a spot where I can maybe afford some of these gems. Gonna be hunting this summer. 
 

I always wanted these just a touch heavier. Got 30’s on my Scotty.

It's not a method, but here is an Artisan I custom ordered with a "Nike Oven" treatment welded neck.

So I got one of the 006's above. I haven't got to play in five years. Practiced putting at the house and finally got to play last week. When I used to play alot I was a major putter ho. Ive used everything, literally. High end Cameron's, Bettys, Odysseys, you name it, Ive used it b4.

 

So the 006 is the best putter Ive ever used. The feel is second to none. I drained my 1st put 11 times in my round, 2 putter 6 times and 1 three jack on 18. I putted very very well with minimal practice and a 5 year lay off. I won't be a putter go again. If you can afford, which you can easily find for under $500 these days, a real oven made putter you won't regret it, I assure you. Just balanced perfectly, feels great and rolls as pure as the driven snow. If you want a real 009 shape, with just as good of feel and balance, get an 006 from the oven and thank me later. I can't wait to keep playing and see how good I can get with this stick. Thank you Dave Franklin and crew. You left a great legacy of products.

Hello, old friends. Glad to be back in this thread.

 

I recently picked up a Method Origin B2-01 on eBay that's a little more raggedy on the sole than I like (like someone scraped it on a cart path). Any tips on smoothing that out? Would just a little bit of sandpaper help, or would I end up scratching the surface even more? Maybe I should just start with some Barkeeper's Friend and see if that helps as I know that's a mild abrasive. I'm also pretty sure I have some fine steel wool somewhere.

I didn’t see one until I zoomed in really close on the sole. It starts with LA. Does that mean anything to you?

I’m beginning to believe the sole a serial numbers that start LA and CA aren’t anything special. I think the player specific ones are usually a deeper engraving and on the neck but I could be wrong. I have been before.

Thanks! It was in really good shape. It was a little short for me so I went ahead and reshafted it. I’ve always wanted to try this KBS PVD shaft.

Dallas Golf has brand new Method Origin B2-01 and B1-01 putters back in stock, with no sightline. They had these for sale maybe a year or two ago. I believe DG got the heads from some old stock somewhere and assembled the putters with their own shaft and generic grip. They're $185 apiece. A naked B2-01 is on the way to me!
