I did a mid muffler delete on mine. It’s stupid loud when I cold start it. Not the typical car I see at my club haha

Srixons going up on BST soon. They did a great job for me masking my swing issues. Larger blade was great for the time being. With my new course it’s demanding especially from the tips. I have yet to break 80 from the tips yet, lots of shots left to right. And unfortunately I like to draw the ball. With the 965/765 combo set I’m not able to work it as much as I need left to right. Could be a combo of the LZ shaft with it. I’m ready for something a little more compact. I have MT at Artisan helping me out with something. The new irons...well old new irons are currently under construction. I’m supposed to know more in a few days about the new set being built.

Slightly used... tour issue Vapor Splits. The Vapor Splits are in the 4-6 iron. They have the appearance of Nike Vapor Pro with the performance and forgiveness of the Pro Combos. But from address look like the Vapor Pros. The long irons have a nice high ball flight and are as forgiving as the Srixon 765s were. Nice and clean and no crazy colors. The way it should have been.

 

These are built to TW specs for length and Swingweight is d3 on these.

Some better pics of my sons putter. This finish changes colors depending on the lighting. It’s gold in the regular light like a high buff finish. But in low light settings it changes colors and it appears darker and purple.

Also going to take the new Cobras out and compare with the G400. The G400 has been one of the most consistent drivers I’ve had in a while.

This week has been pretty windy at my home course. Winds in the 20mph range. The new 2018 Callaway Chrome Soft X performed better than I imagined in the wind. Around the greens it has impressive spin and excellent feel. I’m really impressed with this ball. I’ve never played Callaway anything longer than two months. I just never have liked their stuff that much. Although the new Rogue fairways might be the ticket. But this could be a ball I can see playing consistently. Feels great coming off the irons and putter and doesn’t over spin into the wind. Reminds me of something in between a B330s and regular B330. Hit some full wedge shots and the ball is holding up pretty good. But from the green back the ball has been great. Not sure which ball I will end up this year playing. The BXS is a great ball as well. They both react fairly similar. Might be what ever I can eat cheapest lol.

Some F8 testing today

Demo day....F8+ vs PingG400 experience didn't go as planned as I had hoped. It amazes me how a company can come to a demo day with 50 shafts and one of them are X flex. Only shaft available was Aldila NV 2KXV Blue. Didn't care at all for this driver. From the busy looking head to how crappy it felt at impact at first. I thought the grey color looked better vs black and really liked the LTD so I was expecting this would feel just as good as that head did. Had more weight towards the back and kept hitting these weird spinny cuts. Fitter recommended switching the weights and ended up switching them forward. After switching them forward the feel improved for the better. Had it set at 9.5. I hit completely different shots after switching the weights. The shots straightened out completely but just glancing at Trackman they weren't even in the realm of the G400. Spin was upwards of 2700 vs the PingG400 which is 2000-2100 range for me. Without options to test more I just simply put the club down and went back to practicing. Cobra definitely needs to be more prepared at demo days but even if they had the right shaft for testing head to head, not sure I would even consider giving the F8+ another shot just based off of looks and feel. Just not for me. Really excited to try the G400 Max and M3. Sometime in the future. More my speed of what I am looking for.

I have the f8+ and can only play with it with the weight forward. I might buy another weight to replace the 2g to see if it helps the feel more. The aldila shafts both have crazy high torque. I put a handcrafted px evenflow Black 75 6.5 and it changed the driver. I will admit the g400lst is hard to beat. I wish I bought one in 10* opened to 9.5

I've noticed the Cobra folks at our demo days have always been under prepared and some what jaded when trying some of their equipment out. Typically, all they have is the stock shafts and have a really limited assortment of the upgrade shafts that they supposedly offer. A bit disappointing considering the amount of hype they seem to produce for their new products.

Its pathetic when a company shows up or only sends 1 xflex shaft to a shop or demo day. Honestly pathetic. On top of that I agree with the crown being super busy. I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea but it looks like someone got carried away with the graphics. Feel to me was ok but no way i could look down at that driver every time i tee'd it up.

 

Ping G400LST has been unreal for me. So consistent it's scary.
