Bad maybe one of the best overall punters out on tour year in and year out. He has worked with the Axis staff for about 12 months to get his putter tweaked just the way he wants it.

I was out on the course when I got word he was testing it on the practice green. I'll get photos tomorrow for sure but it is one of these models

I see pictures of them from every tour stop . . . but I've never seen one in play (or in the hands of someone on the practice green, for that matter).

Does anyone use them?

Wow, finally ONE player that MIGHT play one of these. Still not sure who actually does play them though...they are at every single tour stop though, so at least they are persistent.

I've shot Eric Compton a number of times working with one. He uses it as a practice training putter. He may have had it in play last year at the Nelson, can't remember. As many Players try the Axis as some to the other smaller brands.

The Axis is used as a backscratcher.....

Got to say it kinda of an ugly putter but I guess if it helps make putts that's all that matters.

Anyone know irons he's playing?

Eric Compton put the putter in play last fall at Sea Island (McGladreys) and shot 30 on the back nine. At last year's Nelson, Eric's strokes gained putting stat for the 2nd round when he using the Axis putter was +2.7. He also used it at Memorial last year and 3 of his 4 rounds there he had a positive strokes gained putting average.

I got one several years ago thanks to a WRX giveaway (thanks WRX!!!). I changed the grip immediately and actually love the way the putter swings. The total balance no-hang design works really well and might be ideal for any player. The head feels too light to me and the lie is too flat; I actually did play it for a little while to give it a good shakedown. In the end I simply don't remember using it to hole any great putts.
