Succumbed? The PW lofts match the G-25s...and go from i25 PW 46* to a 45*.

Maybe....but I think you have to look back more than 1 generation to spot a trend. I just looked at the ping website and from i5s to i20s the 7 iron went from 34* to 32*. S59's and G2's were 34.30*. I'd say that's pandering to the industry's obsession with distance. FWIW, I'm ok with this because I have a healthy sized ego and I ain't gettin any younger....[/quote]

My eye 2s Sw was 57 and my 7 in today's loft was a 8 etc. However, it is only 1 degree, so 3-5 yards?

I agree with you a little more yardage ain't bad and they can be weaken.

stronger lofts will gap better with ping's g30 hybrids. i do like the 5 degree difference between the pw and uw.

how come ping got rid of the stabilizing bars from the i25? especially in the shorter irons. did they want a hotter face or was there some other reason they didnt think they were needed anymore?

I just hit and ordered mine. 5-PW Green dot +.5" or 37.5" 7 iron. Club looks good and feels good. I was right around 173-175 carry on the 7 iron with 6000-6100 back spin with standard length shaft. Extra length will reduce the little side spin I had and should bring the back spin down a touch.

Yes, this is correct. PX 6.0 has a frequency of 6.5. DG X100 has a frequency of 6.8.

Not sure if this has already been mention, but one thing I find odd is that standard fit is now blue dot and the 3-9i are 1/4" longer.

Project X Shaft weight seems off. On Ping's site the 6.0 flex says 115, while on Project X site and Ping's custom catalog, it says 125 grams. Is it a misprint or am I missing something here?

Pings specs are based on a cut six iron. Manufacturers specs are pre cut.

I agree with this. Now they are the same price as Mizuno MP line which you can get any steel shaft with no upcharge and only $100 less than AP2's. Tough neighborhood to be in I feel.

I ordered mine with C Taper Lite shafts. I have them in my Mizuno 850's and wanted the same weight and feel. I was actually getting similar launch, spin and carry numbers with the lighter CFS shaft.

Hey guys, is there anybody out there that plays AP2's and have hit these a good bit. These irons look great and I am in the market for some new irons this fall. I love my 714 AP2's but I like the look of these also. I assume the ie's will be a little more forgiving?
