How long until a full set of adjustable hosel irons? It seems this may be the last frontier for golf club thechnologie

The loft adjustments will have some adjustments on lie and face angle on this. I'm not sure cobra can incorporate smartpad into an iron

So unless it really is used solely off the tee, lie angles might be an issue if you adjust.

Hosel adjustability comes from adjusting the tilt of the hosel axis and the changes in loft, lie, and face angle is a result of the change in hosel axis.

It's a hole so the gas can escape during the forging process. They just fill it with epoxy so there isn't a hole

The 712Us have the same thing as well. Just something that all of these hollow body iron heads need to have for manufacturing purposes as stated above.

I'm sure you could put an adapter on a steel shaft. I've been meaning to try that myself on a hybrid actually....

This is an interesting question. Not because I can imagine myself being interested; but because it seems a bit like the next logical thing to sell.

I fail to understand why Rickie Fowler needs an adjustable driving/utility iron, when he could have one bent any which way he'd like. The weight up high in the hosel for whatever hardware there is for adjustment does nothing for the club's performance.

Now it will sound like I am against adjustable clubs. I'm not. It's actually sort of funny to me; that adjustable clubs -- woods at least -- are a real democratizing development in golf clubs. They allow all players to use the same method to adjust face angles and lies on wood clubs; a major difference from the days when only the tour vans and the Carlsbad laboratories had the equipment for (and no personal risk in) bending titanium drivers. But that part doesn't hold true for irons. We have always bent irons. There are thousands of local golf shops, and even thousands of hobbyist golfers (I am one) with Mitchell machines.

Whoa. At least he's correct in suggesting that the hole in the toe of pretty much all of the hollow utility irons is related to the how they are manufactured (in two or more pieces and then welded together). It isn't a functional plug. It's not a screw; not on any Titleist (712U, T-MB) and not on this Cobra. I wouldn't have said it is so "gas can escape during the forging process." Because these hollow-core irons aren't really forged as we understand usual forging. They are cast in pieces and welded together.

i once asked a ping fitter, who have a cart full of club heads and shafts that you can quickly screw together, why they could not sell adjustable irons?

the reply was because these things are really easily broken compared to the normal irons.

if cobra manages to pull something durable here. it might be a fun.

It because the club is hollow club and this keeps things from getting inside.

 

The hole is there so hot melt can be inserted into the club head to help with swingweight. It's just a small plastic plug that is drilled in to fill the hole.

Yep. I just called Cobra and they confirmed it will be coming to market. They did not give any details other than it is adjustable. I just got a set of the Cobra Pro Tec irons (4-gw) and I'm hoping this will be a good addition to the set.
