How much lower scores would the world's top 10 score with JDM only bags?

As JDM gear is supposed to be years ahead of the junk TM, Titleist etc throw at us poor western hemisphere players here is a question.....

Would the best players be even better if they dumped their custom made AP2s, S55s etc and used some exotic hand forged Japanese blades, S-Yard or Honma woods etc and $500 a time wedges....?

Surely 59s would be two a penny with Miura and Yamadingdong??

The question is on the right path, but asked incorrectly. If everything from the ferrule up stayed within their specs, would a brand like Acer or Maltby effect their overall score?

If they used Japanese clubs, they'd just be more pleased to look down addressing the ball. Its much prettier. USDM stuff looks gaudy. Few exceptions.

My question is serious gentlemen. The price differential between Japanese gear and everything else has to mean superior performance. A BMW or Porsche corners better than a Hyundai or Chrysler and stops quicker in an emergency due to superior technology. It stands to reason a top class athlete should perform even better with superior equipment. If you are paying more and getting the same performance then there can no realistic reason to buy JDM gear other than posing value.

And a BMW will end up in the shop more than most any lower priced Japanese automobile so again Japanese technology is where it's at.........which brings us right back to JDM!!

They're priced higher because they are finished better. The craftsmanship is top notch, with tighter tolerances and attention to detail. They don't just come off of a production line. You have a craftsman sitting at the end of the line ensuring that what comes through his station goes out to his satisfaction. Some people are willing to pay for that.

It is like a car, but you're not looking at it the right way. You can drive 100 mph in a Ford, or you can drive a 100 mph in a BMW. You're still getting there in the same amount of time. You just might like the look and feel of one over the other. They both will get you where you want to go. If you're a good player, you can shoot 70 with either domestic or JDM. All of these clubs are loaded with technology. But, you can't make an iron play better just by loading it up with a bunch of toys.

I've played US and JDM equipment over the years and I'll be totally honest; I prefer JDM equipment for two reasons; it's more exciting and I prefer the feel of the clubs over there. I can't say I play noticeably better with JDM but I enjoy the ownership and in my opinion better feel of the the clubs, especially the irons. There's also the tighter tolerance argument and maybe some psychological benefit from having your "ultimate" setup in the bag but that can go either way (US or JDM). I find US equipment boring and the marketing hype is insulting at this point - "10 yards further" every year for two decades. Everyone would be up to 400+ yards if that nonsense were true.

A lot of money for a better finish. Hand made v a computer controlled milling machine. No contest. Machine wins every time. I am sensing the perceived quality versus reality marketing trick. I see better quality as performing better, not just "looking" better. A steel Rolex and a gold Rolex have the same movement. One is £5000, the other 3 or 4 times the price. More expensive yes. Better watch? Er no.

But Gold is worth more....nvm. And some people will disagree with you that machine made stuff is better than handmade.

Spoken like a true troll, full of sarcasm and disdain.

People should be able to buy and play what they want without having to get your approval. That's why there as so many different cars, spaghetti sauces, golf clubs and breakfast cereals.

And the answer to your question is, naturally, 42.

i don’t need no stinkin’ shift key

If I purchase a set of JDM blades should I use iron covers? Is it alright to wear jeans and a hoodie if I play them while using a push cart? Arigato in advance, OP-san...
