Unless you have more than 10 sets of clubs, I think 5 to 10 sets are a fair amount. Right guys?

Wrong!

50-100 is a fair amount. Just open her shoe closet if you want to level set things ... :)

And if she complains further, then find that pic of Teevons garage on here and show her that for appropriate "context" !

Found these for 2.99

These were THEE BALL in the early/mid '70's.

Supposedly, Hogan bought the patent rights for the Acushnet K ball, when Titleist went to the larger dimple ball design

I do remember the old man got some on one of his 'deals" for the shop. They were not a big seller for his shop. The better players played Titleist or Maxfli and the weekenders played either Club Specials or lake balls. I ended up with a bunch of the red and black Hogan balls. As best as I recall they cut easily and went out of round faster. I think he reduced them to the same price as the Club Specials and moved them that way. Now on the other spectrum a friend of his was the Pro at a course in the Eastern part of NC and a die hard Hogan Staffer sold a lot of those balls at his shop. I guess it was demographics as those in marketing put it

A boudreau

Sorry I just use my I phone

NP, you can make adjustments in your photo section. I use my phone for everything, pretty nice not having to use a camera and then hook it up and download them then make adjustments. I also remember having to buy Film and bring it somewhere to have pictures produced and walking to school ten miles one way in a blizzard. LOL

How do you find members? I need that picture of Teevons garage. For sure! I have a steady customer on eBay that normally buys 3-6 collectible balls a year. We got to chatting, he took over his dining room and has a drum set and a buttload of golf equipment everywhere. He sent me some pictures and I showed my wife and she was totally on defense and gave me a bunch of crap. I don't understand it, she has a whole 20 X 18 room for her artwork/crafts and I get a corner of a room here and there, have to store all my golf balls(1500 or so) under dressers but i do have a three layer steamer trunk in the family room and four wall display cases(2 not mounted yet, 6 total) oh and my wife has some shoes. NOT FAIR!

When we bought a small condo and moved to South florida 7 1/2 years ago I looked at my wife, pointed to the enclosed 'Florida Room," and said... This is mine. :D

Came across these Burke Punchirons 3,4,6,8,9. I'm not to sure on the year? The hosel is pinned, the ferrule is stamped Rec.18550, the shaft is a TrueTemper Rocket green band.

According to Golfworks guide they made a stainless model in 1950, but I think the stamping should say Stainless model s2050, which cleary mine does not. Maybe a pre 1950?

Couple recent acquisitions. Ping G2 3hl, 4hl,5-9 @$6.99 a club - used a 25% off coupon so I got the set for a little under $40.00. Then I found a nice set of Adams a3OS 5 through PW. $2.99 a club.

Does anyone else notice Goodwill charges too much for their clubs?

Maybe it's just me...lots of junk, and the standard is generally (well, pretty much everywhere) $2.99 a club.

IMO they should generally be charging around $.99 cents a club, with some exceptions.

How do they usually charge at the Goodwills those of you hunt?

Usually 2.99 at my local Goodwill, which never has any clubs. I did wonder into one that had them at .99 left there empty handed also.

$2.99 is standard in my area at thrifts. I've never found anything but junk. There are a couple of second-hand sporting goods stores that have a wide selection of golf clubs, but they are individually priced based on what it is. Lately I figure that they are pricing off of eBay listings as nothing is cheap.

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

Goodwill here charges $4.99. Most thrift stores are somewhere around $.99 to $10 depending on knowledge. Garage sales...under $1 a club.

Today I scored a perfect club (.50) and a St Jude's Research Hospital head cover (.25).

Lol. Don't worry the PC is not for me to play. It has a trade-in value of $10 on Rock Bottom Golf. Hope it goes towards balls or shoes.

Oh hey Joe. I also came across some 588p's, but it was only the 4,5,9, and pw. Thought about getting the 4 for you, but it wasn't in good condition so I passed.

I got 9 sets of irons put up on eBay yesterday. saintpaulgolf

I just got these last week Goodwill at the usual ($2.99) price:

I had a set of these probably about 10 years ago and thought they were some of the most handsome irons I had ever seen. They still are some of the most beautiful irons I've ever seen.

My best finds to date: Ping Original Eye irons, black dot, 2 through SW, with the original zz-lite shafts, for $29 at Play-It-Again-Sports. They were stacked outside on the sidewalk with all the "King Snakes" and faux-Big Berthas. They even had the original grips (since replaced), and looked as if they'd never been played. They kicked my Cobras out of my regular bag, and they're what I play now. Weaker lofts and shorter shafts, so my eight iron is actually my nine iron, but they are so easy to hit. At the same store, I found a set of Callaway Steelhead fairway woods--3w, 4w, 5w, 7w--for $10 each, in great shape. The 4w and 7w have also taken up residence in my regular bag.

Would a set of Ram Custom 100 Pro Model irons be worth anything? I found a set but passed on them ...for now.
