Here is a photo of Ian's actual RIFE Aruba which he used to win the WGC Accenture Matchplay Championship yesterday.

RifeAruba1.jpg

So, that's a Rife Aruba with some added tungsten weights in the back? The Aruba is speced at 345 g, but he seems to prefer some rather fat black rubber grip, so I guess he could use some more weight in the clubface? But I'm not sure that's an Aruba.

No "cut out" where the neck meets the clubhead.

http://rifeputters.com/products/island/115/aruba/

which rules out the Aussie too.

So that picture seems to be the old Antigua with plumbers neck?

http://valueguide.pga.com/detail-exec/brand/2786/product_type/206/model/47040/b/Guerin%20Rife/p/Putter/m/Antigua

Well no, no sightline cut out and the heel looks different.

So that rife in the picture must be some prototype?

The standard winn grip on Aruba putter is only 57 g.

http://www.winngrips...gripType=putter

I think that now when "everybody" puts winn trips on putters from the factory you easily get a too light clubhead if you put on another grip, even a standard sized rubber grip, and definitely if you go with something mid- or oversize.

He does use an Aruba, and I am guessing that the one pictured was a Prototype based on the customization and that it was so early in the year (before they came out).

For a putter grip, the last I saw, he used an Odyssey DFX grip with the paintfill removed.

Ian Poulter has never been one to shy away from a fashion statement, so it should come as no surprise that he loves his new all-white, Limited Edition Cobra ZL driver.

In a statement released Thursday night by Cobra Golf, Poulter said:

"I like the visual of the new all-white ZL. It's really very cool. It's really very unique and different than any driver I've seen — plus it's performance is great too. It has the identical performance to the driver I've won with twice."

Poulter has decided to put his Limited Edition ZL in play this week at the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai.

From a technical standpoint, Poulter should be enamored with his white driver because the Limited Edition ZL has a carbon composite crown and sole, along with a titanium body and clubface, just like the original ZL. And both the original and Limited Edition models feature Cobra's adjustable hosel that allows golfers to position the face in either a neutral, open or closed position using a torque wrench.

The "O" setting is for the "Open setting, which is only about 1* open or something like that. The "N" setting for neutral is actually a bit closed.

Can't see a strong ball-striker like Poulter playing his Cobra in the Neutral setting.

I wonder how much he tips the Motore Speeder - now that would be really relevant information.

I have fooled around with a couple of Motore Speeder 60S shafts and they much more softly than the comparable Motore F1 shafts.

Just watching the ET weekly summary. Poulter used a putter very similar to the putter in the picture above (could be just that putter) in Singapore last week, that is not a Rife Aruba. At least not the Rife Aruba as it's sold now.

I agree, at quick glance, everything looked the same to me except for the weight inserts (of course, that is most likely a pro perk) and the neck. The neck looked quite a bit longer.

I didn't look into it much more beyond that but it's different than what he was using AND definitely not Aruba we're able to get our hands on.

I think Aruba Prototype is the best term for his putter.

White is the new trendy color for fall - at least, in the golf world.

Cobra's ZL Driver gets a new look with an all-white finish. Ian Poulter has been using the driver for two weeks and earned his first win with it. Ian Poulter won the UBS Hong Kong Open on the strength of a second-round 10-under 60 and while using a new white Cobra ZL driver.

"This is my third win using (the ZL driver) and the first using the all-white version," Poulter said. "I like the visual of it, it's really very cool. It's unique and different than any driver I've seen -- plus its performance is great, too."

Poulter's driver is a limited edition model that Cobra released earlier this month. Just 500 of the clubs will be made, each with a production serial number and a Fujikura Motore Speeder shaft.

"The Limited Edition ZL demonstrates the unique attitude of the Cobra brand, and our focus on superior performance and innovative design," said Brian Zender, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cobra-Puma Golf.

Poulter first started using the driver at the HSBC Champions World Golf Championship event in Shanghai two weeks ago.

Identical to the ZL driver in every way but its color, the Limited Edition ZL incorporates an adjustable hosel that can be set to open, neutral or closed. It also uses a rhombus-shaped face insert to make nine points across the face for increased ball speed.

The White trend in clubheads started with TaylorMade's line of Ghost putters - white versions of the Rossa putter line. TaylorMade will also be introducing an R11 white driver early next year.

That is 15 clubs. If he is playing a 21 degree hybrid i would guess that he isn't playing a 3 iron.

Poulter's new putter for the first round of the Honda. He brought 7 of them this week, so it may not stay if it doesn't perform.
