I had a feeling I'd see Sei Young up near the top, didn't know what to expect from Inbee but she had a great round even though she missed a few makeable ones.

 

Ariya is gonna be tough to beat, and I expect Lydia to up near the top after the 2nd round :D

Hull Nordquist Ko 5 and a half hours 18 holes. Ridiculous. Just watching the 18th. All 3 took forever on each shot. They need penalising.

 

Charley Hull is a naturally quick player. She's up there with Rickie/Sneadker fast. It pains me to say this, but as a Azahara fan she is slower than molasses.

 

I was surprised to see how long it took the ladies took to play a 6300yd basically flat course. I think Rose and Stenson group played 18 holes in about 4hrs and sine change.

They were in the last group of the day. How do you penalize them if they were in position?

 

 

Would it be possible to persuade the doping authorities to allow one or two frequent offenders to take speed pills..... ?

I did not see it-was off playing myself. Should they hit into the group in front of them? They cannot play in four hours if the group in front of them does not. It sure seems to me that all of the pros , well except maybe Snedeker lol and Sabbatini, wind up having slow routines just so they do not have to wait all day for the group in front of them.

 

That's a fair point. If the first group is 5 hours +, then so is everyone else, Perhaps they should take this into account when doing the pairings.

That is pretty bad. The problem is kids see that (remember we're trying to grow the game) and mimic it, thinking it's fine.

 

Slow play will kill golf more than complicated rules, cost or anything else for that matter.

 

Kids are already playing slow. At my local course, it takes more than 2.5 hours for a foursome of highschoolers to finish 9 holes. It seems they don't really care by the way they walk casually down the fairway. Any by causally, I mean at a snails pace.
