Sounds like DJ is using the 2017 M1 460 CC driver and a HZRDUS T1100 75 6.5 shaft in his 3 wood.

The most recent picture I saw showed a UDI 2 and 3 iron in the bag, and a MB 3 iron. But, I'm guessing he was just testing them.

It's going to be very interesting to see which of all of these tour players who are playing the M2 switch to the new M1 or M2.

Taylormade could end up with a marketing disaster on their hands.

The process might go smoother than you think. I've always been amazed at how quickly the big time TM staffers switch to the new product. Seems like DJ, Sergio, Rose, and others switch week one. I'm not sure what they are getting paid to do so, but clearly there is an incentive to switch (other than 7 more yards obviously).

I agree with you that a lot of the Taylormade staff will switch. But what about Woods and McIlroy and so many others who aren't under contract with Taylormade but playing M2? I don't really care either way, I just think it will be interesting.

Uh, Rory already switched... to a Cally Epic Sub Zero...

Can anyone confirm that DJ plays the 42.25" 3W length thats listed in his latest winning WRX WITB. I trust the source, but that's still surprising to know for his height. Some phenomenal 3w strikers are playing shorter than standard, even the tall guys.

Bubba: 42", Tiger: 42.50", DJ: 42.25", Ooisthuizen: 42", English: 42.50", Grace: 42 1/8",

There are tons more doing it, but those are the most notable that come to mind

Not that I am a Tour player but I'm 6'2 and play 42.5 in the 3 wood and 44.5 in the driver. I don't see any loss of distance and much better contact.

Kind of surprised that DJ has never really strayed away from the Speeder in his driver. He probably loves the feel of that line and doesn't want to mess with with it, but I wonder if there would be an even more ridiculous head / shaft combination out there for him.

Love my `16 M2 3HL, and at 6'-2", I have mine at 42". Had to put a port in the rear bottom and added yarn to increase swingweight.

Nice to see many pros do that as well.

Not too much less, it's in between face balanced and his plumber's neck Scotty. I think it's less the toe hang and more the mallet.

Where are his misses left going??? In the Hole, it's changed his putting MUCH for the better.

Btw, does anyone else find it interesting he plays a 42.5" 3 Wood & TM is shipping STOCK 3 Woods at 43.25...........

That should tell everyone something about getting fitted. DJ is 6'4 & is playing a nearly 1" shorter than stock fairway, I would bet 75% of golfers would benefit from going shorter on these modern fairway woods. IMO center contact is 10x's more important than shaft length in a fairway. You will gain yards but nutting it........all that extra inch does is make it harder to hit center.

DJ plays a 45.25" driver based on the normal ruler that taylormade uses. On the older tour ruler it would come out to around 45.75. Got this from the tour rep as I didn't believe it when they said 45.75" either.

So it's 1/2 inch shorter than TM standard??

Still longer than the 44.5" he's been playing?
