If I'm reading this correctly it has voice capability like the ES12/14 but you can select between Carry/CH Speed/Ball Launch Speed/Spin Rate/Launch Angle/Smash/Flight time. Well done FS!!

I don't think its required since it measures Spin and Launch angle.

I don't think lofts would be required for the software to calculate its given metrics but, you can customize clubs and labels for said clubs via their app:

Looks like you can edit the name of each club but cant change the loft. This would confirm that it measures and does not calculate.

I am on an iPhone 6+, when I am in settings and select the backup option to store my settings in the Flightscope cloud, the app crashes. I did however receive an automated email confirming that "your mevo 1.0.4. Backup has been sent to the cloud!".

 

Is it just my phone? Not a deal breaker. When I reopened the app, my settings were still there.

Says in the app that the stickers are optional under the setup help. Capture mode has to be set to Data instead of Video so you can track each club. Took a bit to figure that one out.

Most likely that the backup option is for the video and data, not for settings. The settings will save automatically on your phone.

I was thinking they have that option in case I wanted to install the app on an iPad or something and the settings would be able to be loaded on the new device when I went through the restore process. Don't really know myself, anxious to get my hands on the unit. I am in line 270-something.

I just want this to give an accurate distance measurement without the dots for range use. I'd really like to be able to dial in my distances with my irons and wedges

The app definitely has some user experience issues, but I can look past those to get this data in my hands! The crappy thing is the weather later this week is supposed to be crappy and I don't have an indoor set up.

-comparison indoors with and without stickers.

- do metallic sharpies really have no effect

 

I have a skytrack so I'll prob do tests 2 and 3...but would be interesting to see outdoor data with the gold standards. I'm in the first 100 but given shipping time to California I'm guessing some people will get around to testing faster.

It works great on my iPhone 7+. My issue is about feature discoverability and overall design. I'm an app developer, so I have a pretty high bar.

No, still waiting on my tracking number. Once I get one in my hands, however, I'll put it to use and report back.

I just checked and the app runs in compatibility mode on my iPad. Now I can bring my iPad to the course and get a larger display of the data while I'm at the range :)

Both ranges I go to use full flight. That being said, if you don't use the stickers and it only measures the initial launch, will it even notice a difference between a full flight and limited flight?

I'm not sure I've ever been to a place that DOES use limited flight balls in the state I'm in. Not very common at all in SW Ohio.

I think it depends on how you're planning to use the device. For me personally, I like to tinker and try new equipment but I don't have convenient access to TrackMan/Flightscope to get numbers. I also like to test equipment on the course and not indoors, so I often post up on a hole when my home course is empty and hit a bunch of balls.

 

I'd like to get numbers when I do this type of testing, so in theory this seems like a great device to use as long as it's accurate compared to TM/FS. I don't mind the need for stickers to get spin, as I can always keep a set of balls dedicated to this purpose.

 

Maybe my needs are unique, but it seems perfect and reasonably priced for that type of thing.
