Gratz Ha Na, while everyone else choked it up she snuck up and snatched it..

Was hoping for a Pornanong or Su Oh win but not to be..

On to Thailand!

Ariya may well get redemption for 2013 this year :)

Also a congrats to Ha Na and I also was hoping Su Oh could pull it off towards the end but the luck went Ha Na's way! Not sure Leftagain why your not entitled to have your likes or dislikes of different players pretty poor form to read another poster thinking like this. I thought Lydia's tournament while not being up to her usual standard was a fair start to the season. Way to early to start to believe she won't be in contention most weekends again.

The GC headline "Wie in contention, but battling back spasms" I found that amusing she was no more in contention than half the field!

Ditto On to Thailand....

Nice eagle by HaNa on 17.

Note to Salas..you can't leave yourself 8 6' par putts and expect to do well.

As soon as the wind picked up in the afternoon Salas was going to be in trouble. She's not a really long hitter and she was leaving herself too long a shot to the greens and that will hurt you on this links course.

I hear there's some Dana fans here.

Super happy about Minjee's finish! If not her, I was hoping for Su to get a great first win + home. Maybe Sunday pressure came up, but she's got that experience done now, ready for next time. Great start to the season for both, hope they had a fun time and are riding high!

I hope Ha Na has a drama free year too. No one should be harmfully stressed. I admit though I still have ambivalent feelings about the incident and am not super excited. Ah well. Wonder if this might put some fire in In Gee's tummy a little. Or not, it's all good.

Ariya T3 and Lydia T46. Just one data point, but lines up with the end of last year, for what little that's worth. At least the Ko changes did not result in some unlikely big adjusting disaster. You can do it Lydia!

Usually, I really enjoy watching the LPGA Tournaments. This time I found the tournament very boring. I don't know if it was because of the field or the announcing.

Anyone feel the same.

The announcing had a lot to do with it. Plus, the camera work was choppier than usual. It was hard to get into any rhythm with most of the pairings. Too much jumping around. For that, I guess we blame the producer?

Yeah it seemed a little choppy, I didn't mind the announcers too much. Not as bad as some others. The course looked absolutely amazing but a lot of times I had no idea where the green was. Of course I'm too busy surfing WRX while watching so that doesn't help haha.

Looking forward to Thailand.

Keep in mind that a lot of players were hovering around -6, and there was a lot of reshuffling going on. Unlike the GC coverage where they miss a lot of the players moving up through the leaderboard, the coverage had plenty of cameras to cover the action. I'm assuming it's because this is their Open.

'Strange tournament, but a solid win for Ha Na. Congrats. The leaders seemed to want to play "You take it. No, you take it!". That left a big door open for Ariya, Minjee, and Ha Na to shoot a few under and grab the trophy. I was expecting a 3 or 4 way playoff at -6, but Ha Na certainly finished in style.

-5 on her last six holes is certainly grabbing the trophy.

The only thing I didn't like was GC coming back from a commercial break and Mike Ritz providing voice over commentary. Because of this, they missed the play by play from the Aussie broadcast team when Ha Na drilled that putt for eagle on 17.

U.S. and Australian TV have different length for commercial breaks. That's why someone at GC has to fill in while the Australian broadcast is still in a commercial break. As such, I don't believe there was any Australian commentary.

I always thought it was the other way around, Australian TV is already back and Ritz is speaking until there's a pause in the Australian commentary.

No, I don't believe so. The GC gets the raw video feed, but the Australian booth is off mic when they're on a commercial break. From what I've read, Australia has an insane amount of commercials, in both count and duration.

This event was actually broadcast on ABC, our National broadcaster, which doesn't have commercial advertising at all (they promo their content but nothing else) so there were very few 'breaks' so to speak at this end. The only downside for us was that the ABC doesn't broadcast in HD, otherwise it was 5 hours every day that I missed most of.. lol.

Agree, otherwise it would be such a waste to put a guy on duty here in US just to avoid cutting back in mid sentence of the Aussie commentary. I doubt any of us care.

Most of the time the GC person sounds half asleep, and dragging me along.

As I was watching, and pulling for LeBlanc, I know someone was going to do something special, I met Ha Na at the Lotte Championship, very determined, focused and a true professional, she is very talkative and very friendly, she didn't play particularly well (in Hawaii) but she had the "it" factor back then, I am not surprised she's won as many times as she has...as for LeBlanc (whom I caddied for) her mindset at times is her downfall, she is very long off the tee, fairly accurate with her iron shots, but the putter is her nemesis, she is a very polite and friendly as well, we had a great time, I am sure if she works on a few things she'll do much better, I wish her nothing but the best, the same for Kim Kaufman, Paula Reto, Mi Hyang Lee and Danielle Kang...

It was like the closing minutes of a tight basketball game where each team keeps trading missed jumpers. At some point H.N.J. was like "Give ME the damn ball" and started knocking 'em down. Kind of cool ending to what was looking like it was going be a pretty ugly finish with a couple players backing into a playoff.

It was a great win. I was more interested in how she was going to celebrate. I was rooting for the samurai celebration again. That was just cool! This girl is really good.

Ariya and Minjee Lee usefully placed in the field. Ha Na and Haru Nomura showing some good action and either of those could win it.

But all in all a pretty sluggish turn out for the bigger guns. Unclear at this point what the season is going to look like.

Well, looks like the new faces just evaporated and quality came through in the end - Ariya, Minjee Lee, Ha Na and Haru Nomura.

Brooke wasn't so bad apart from the round of 77, but Lydia and Charley Hull seriously off the pace. So season could look like last season - shuffling around the previous LPGA winners. Itching to see how Sung Hyun does....

Glad Ha Na won. I like her game and her personality.

Has Nanna Madsen joined the LPGA Tour this year? Wiki says she's on the LET.

.

Its Nannas goal to earn full status this year, she tuesday qualified.

I can't believe this..

Golf Channel is showing repeats of LPGA Australian Open right now..

They must have lost their Tin Cup DVD.

Nope, pretty sure it's on tonight. Monday's are Greatest Game Ever Played night.
