I plan on it. There have been changes in the USGA about how clubs work so i have to look into this before hand. If it is an issue we will still do the tour aspect of it, but we may not exactly have an official club that keeps handicaps.

OK guys,

 

I am in the finishing touches of the season score sheet. As we established, this is just for fun but I found a cool/easy way to make sure the pool of people available for prizes have at least the minimum scores (this year was 7 since March was not officially included).

 

I am just trying to figure out another function in order to rank things haha. May have to send it over to our IT specialist in the group Jason.

 

just wanted to update to let you know that this is going to happen next year. I will start a new thread shortly for sign ups so we can have a fresh list of people. That way I can also update the club with adding and subtracting people so we don't have a ton of users not doing anything.

 

When I put up the new thread for sign ups, please please please PM me your Name, location, email for Grint, and the User name for Grint so it is easy to find you on the app. There were a few mishaps with adding people this past season due to common names and what not haha.

 

thanks again yall. This was fun. Once I get the spreadsheet finished I will get some prizes put together. The prizes will be randomly given out raffle style to those who had the minimum amount of rounds.

Ok gentlemen!

 

Time has come. I finally got my spreadsheet done and we had some really good scores. Unfortunately this is not about the best scoring person, it’s about the fun of playing and having a sense of community/brotherhood or whatever you want to feel :)

 

First congrats and big thanks to Md_mcewen for being the only player to get all the available event rounds in this year! That’s awesome and he did it from what I would imagine is a really cold and snowy place haha. Thank you for being so dedicated.

 

Second I want to congratulate the top three scorers because they played really well this season.

1. Reckless monkey with a 472

2. Bob Cat with a 473

3. Eddiebigeddie with a 477

 

Great job guys. That is super awesome and I hope you continue it next year. Unfortunately I don’t have anything for you at this time besides a virtual slap on the back/high five/fist bump or whatever nice gesture (don’t get crazy though) you want to envision for a job well done :)

 

Now onto what everyone has been waiting for...... I took everyone who qualified with the minimum amount of rounds (7 this year since March was a testing month. Next season will be 8) and have them a number. I then put it into random organizer to choose two winners.

 

1st place goes to Wkndhack. Your prize is a $50 callaway gift card good to use on their websites.

 

2nd place goes to Fore_Life. While not as luxurious as the first place (gotta go with what I got this go around haha) prize, you do win a sleeve of cool new Wilson Duo Soft optix golf balls in bright pink! Go you!

 

Thanks again guys. I want to keep doing this and keep it going. I’m hoping to plan a bit better as well this season and have more prizes and more legitimate stuff haha.

Scores that were used were the net score for each qualifying round posted by the member during the season. The lowest seven scores were taken and added together. Basically I made it a handicapped season. I felt like this was fair because since we are not handing out prizes for the top finishers, nobody has a real advantage to winning over the other. Obviously lower handicaps don’t have quite the same advantage as a higher handicap. And while I do trust you guys to keep legitimate handicaps and post realistically, in the end there’s always some people who don’t do that. So I just wanted to make sure we did our prices and “ winners“ from a pool of people who participated in the required number of events to reward those who help make this thing happen.

PapaJo - Thanks for putting this together and all the updates. I would be happy to contribute some money towards a prize pool for the upcoming season.

Thanks to all who organized and participated. In true WRX fashion, I will use my gift card to buy something that costs too much, designed for a handicap way lower than mine, and that my wife doesn't want me to have.

I played really well this year, met and played with some awesome WRXr's, got the hcdp to single digits, and achieved 2nd in the inaugural (WRX) Web Tour.
