Hello Everyone!

Welcome to a very exciting Tour that has been created to develop a little friendly competition and hopefully some new friendships. This thread will be the main thread to for Event updates and official member posting. Please do not use this thread to ask about being added or anything that is not event related (Photos from courses played for events and score cards are welcome as well as talking about rounds for events). Here are the general guidelines for the Club and Events:

 

1. All members must be golfwrx members interested in fun monthly events to unite us across the the country.

 

2. Honesty on scoring is a must... scores must have a picture of the score card uploaded! We are depending on you to be honest, and realize that you are not and never will be a professional golfer. We think you're cool though, which counts for something.

 

3. You may play from any tee you desire, but again, please be honest and choose the tee you normally would/should play.

 

4. Keep score to the best of your ability according to the rules of golf when posting your monthly event scores. This is for fun, but please no mulligans, try to putt everything out, etc.

 

5. You may use only one combined 9 hole scores for events. The other recorded round of the month must be 18. Again, be big boys and girls and do this with integrity. No reason to cheat the system.

 

6. Rounds must be elected event rounds before the round begins (via app. If you do not know how to choose this, please ask!). Do not quit tracking halfway through because you feel it's not going well.

 

7. Players need to track stats along the rounds through the app. Tie-breakers are dealt with stats such as putts, GIR, FIR, Grints, etc.

 

8. The chairman and vice chairman (DarthMaduro/CigarNate) have the right to put in place any new rule/regulation they see fit to keep the club happy and running smoothly.

 

9. There will be Two Events a month that are compiled of one round each. Season runs from March-October (16 total rounds). Events will start the first day of the month and run to the last day of the month. The highest 8 rounds will be dropped and lowest 8 rounds will be used for scoring. Scoring will be total score for the year.

 

10. If posting Event Rounds here with pictures/scores, please try to remember to state what event it is and which round (ie: March/Round 1)

To post combined 9 hole rounds.

 

1. Log onto the Grint online (not phone app)

2. Click scores tab/link up top

3. Click Add Score in the Top Right Corner

4. Click Combined 9 hole score option

5. Now choose courses and 9s you played for each score card

6. Be sure to click on Club event from the Drop down menu

7. Fill Out Score card with scores and stats

8. Click Club Tournament Score (above submit button)

9. Submit score

10. Upload Score cards pictures

First Event will be a trial run. It has been posted and should show up in your app.

 

To choose round for event purpose:

 

1. Click Play button

 

2. Click GPS,Track, & Play

 

3. Select settings (course, tee, starting hole). Now click TOUR EVENTS arrow to open drop down menu

 

4. Tap to change

 

5. Choose which round you are submitting in the event shown.

 

6. Play round while tracking stats

 

7. End Round and click yes when asked about submitting photo of scorecard.

You will need to mark a scorecard.

I was counting on this being an option as well.

 

Since we are supposed to upload a paper scorecard it seems like it would not be terribly important that the back 9 be played on the same day as the front nine. I am very likely to start a round on Tuesday and finish on Wednesday this summer when it's too dang hot to play after 10am. I think we can just have a gentleman's(or ladies) agreement to be honest and put both rounds on the same scorecard.

I have never paid for the app and I have at least 25-30 rounds on mine. Even before they upgraded me to Pro for being a chariman.

You are right. Thank you for pointing that out.

 

If the 9 hole round is going to be done, you will need to keep score on scorecard during the round. then play your next 9 at some point on that same score card (needs to be at the same course. opposite nine is preferable). When you move to the Grint, enter it has an 18 hole score on the website. There are options on how to do it. If you have any questions please ask. This is the biggest reason that using 18 hole rounds for event rounds is best. Less confusing. two 9s are fine as done by the above, but I (and Im not trying to come off as presumptuous/an a** haha)would think that most should be able to get out for at least 2 full rounds a month if not 1.

If shorter qualifies as more fun then I guess so.

 

#5 is about 10 yards uphill to an elevated green with an 8ft hump in the middle. If you're on the wrong side of that hump you're toast.

#7 is 15 yards downhill to a long narrow elevated green. My one and only hole in one came on this one.

Question about posting 9 hole rounds. I'm going to play in a different league this summer than last and they have 2 courses. If they change courses between weeks I wouldn't have consecutive rounds on the same course, would I just post both rounds after I've completed both 18s?

I am currently reviewing the 9 hole round posting fellas. I'll update when a decision has been made. Want to make a good decision that will be fair for everyone and consistent.

Most courses are pretty similarly rated front and back. For my home club, they'd rather have guys post a 9 hole by doubling the score than just having fewer scores. Different concept though, they're going for having a more accurate index, not an "event."

Updated 9 hole rule. It should be pretty simple. Biggest thing is staying honest about it. Depending on how it plays out the first month or two this (as all the guidelines) are up for change. Thanks for bearing with me guys.
