I'm genuinely surprised at the heat that Cantlay is taking for his 'behaviour' at the end.

Yes, with the benefit of looking from the outside in, even with a second place finish it was a great week for him - he secured his tour card, managed to get himself in contention in only his second start back and he really showed that he has the game everyone thought he had. Look at it from his point of view, being in the moment though. Yeah, he finished second but in his head, the reason that he finished second is because of two mediocre swings which were then followed up with two mediocre bunker shots. But for those swings, he walks away the winner, secures his card through to the end of the 2018-19 season and he is going to The Masters in a few weeks time.

He left there with a lot but he could have left there with a lot more had those two poor swings not shown up. If he was annoyed at himself then I can completely understand where he is coming from. One swing can make such a difference. Look at Spieth - that reasonably fluke bunker shot at the John Deere helped place him on a trajectory that was almost unheard of. I am sure that in time Cantlay will find the positives from the week but a few minutes after not being able to see those positives is fair enough.

Coulda Woulda, That and 2 bucks will get you a coffee. If he birdies more holes he wins. Point is he only tied for the lead. He never had the lead. It was Hadwins tournament to win and he did.

Although barely but at the end he did win and unfortunately for Cantlay he fell just short. He should walk away from this with his head held high as he regained his status which will give him more opportunities. This was only his second start of the season which is an amazing feat in itself.

He did get to -15 and Hadwin won at -14 and the only reason that Cantlay didn't stay at -15 was because he himself made mistakes which would annoy anyone. There is no denying that it is a good result for him, it's just when you come with in touching distance of achieving so much more, if it didn't at least irk you then there is something wrong.

The score graphic hides him grabbing his *uts as he shakes hands.

Pretty declasse if you ask me.

First of all, all the hubbub prior was about the awkwardness and his lack of jubilation for the winner and his own loss. He's got his hat in hand, there's no crotch grab there.

Really? By how people were going on about it I was expecting the dumb handshake Donal Trump does.

This is so nothing.
