Currently play the regular Srixon Q-Star

I like the currently Q-Star that I play, but I would like something that has a bit softer feel and can offer some check up around the greens. This sounds like it could accomplish that.

My current handicap is a 9.

I currently play a Taylor made TP-5(2017) as well as the Titleist Pro V1

I think the Q-Star Tour will help me achieve a higher launch and lower spin into greens and off the tee.

I think I can benefit from this because I will then be able to come into greens with a shorter iron allowing me to improve my control as well as feel more confident because of the 7 iron I would be hitting as oppose to using my old golf ball and hitting a 6 or 5 iron into the green. I usually play Bethpage black course and red/green/blue courses(bethpage). I also play Eisenhower park red golf course and a few other local courses, middle bay in oceanside and stonebridge in smithtown. I play approximately 3x-4x a week and play from the blue tees. I would appreciate the opportunity to try out the New Srixon Q-star and let them know how I like it.

How will Q-STAR TOUR help your game? The regular Q-Star already helped me break 90 multiple times last year. Got great distance off the tee, and really helped my approach game by holding greens. I picked up new wedges over the winter, and believe the ball will allow an even better short game result this year.

Q Star Tour is a great ball for my inbetween swing of 105mph. I think the softer core with the spin capabilities of tour balls good help me out a bunch. Would love to test and return with feedback if given the chance.

I'm 66, carry a 4.7 index and play the Chrome soft because of the soft core and urethane cover. Always looking for a few extra yards but even if the Q star tour is just as long and is $10 a dozen cheaper with the same feel I would switch. Will review the ball's performance and share with other wrx members.

Q-Star help (?) I feel that the Wilson is a little to soft and lose driver distance. At a best driver swing speed of 88, the best distance i could attain was 212 carry and 230 total. I think that perhaps the Q-Star may/should be a little firmer and come off the driver hotter. As for green side spin and check, I'm really old school from playing hard greens most of my life, so I'm a bump and run player. I have no hesitation in using a putter from even 10 yds of the green, if the lie is tight and grass has been cut. Drives the younger guys i play against nuts..... :taunt:

 

I think a review or two from seniors and lower swing players are a must. You young bellies that swing 100 plus really don't need this ball............

Thanks for the opportunity to review, compare and contrast the Q-Star Tour to other balls. I've used the ProV1, ProV1X, the Q-Star and the Callaway Chrome Soft in the past, and currently have the remnants of a Bonus Box of SRIXON Z-Star XV's in my bag.

 

I'm anxious to see how the claimed "softer feel" of these Q-Star Tour's compares to the low-compression Chrome Soft ball, as well as to its Z-Star XV sibling.

 

I look forward to testing these balls, and then to giving my results and perspective on these new balls!

Always looking for that next great ball in golf. Q-Star Tour, with its urethane cover, seems to be that ball for 60+ year old men that can still hit it but need more control around the green. I will try them either way!
