This thread needs a NSFW flair after seeing those MBs......the temptation to game blades for no apparent reason has never higher

There's no reason you shouldn't have those blades. :)

looks good, I thought 716 mb had a little too much offset but I still really liked them. Looks like these have less offset. These new pictures look better than previous of ap2 etc

Agree that turned me off the 716mb. But looks like they got rid of it on the new ones. Look great from what I can see.

This makes me sad. Although not definitely in every case, the lower cap better player miss is the hook. This doesn't help things. I can actually see them scaring away a lot of their target market with the reference to draw bias. They've scared me away.

"The 718 CB, however, is a much different club. In its previous iteration, the tungsten in the 3- through 7-irons was covered by a stainless-steel cap. Now the tungsten extends out to the edge of the club. This provides more weight and allows for the CG to be moved slightly toward the heel for a little more draw bias on the long and mid irons."

They all look good. Does anyone know where the AP3 sits in the line? It is a cross between the AP2 and CB?

I'll stick with my 716 T-MBs though :)

I think this is the most complete iron lineup ever released by a single OEM, at once.

The possibilities on bag setup...

These kinds of options were a dream only 10-15 years ago

Tell my 16 year old self that I can choose between 4 premium irons (AP2, AP3, CB, T-MB) just for a long iron choice, I'd lose my mind

I've been hearing about how golf is struggling, ratings, yadda yadda

However, equipment selection is incredible right now

Can someone in the know please tell me what they did (new) with the 718 MB's?

Changed the 6 to an 8.

All that was done was the muscle went from being higher to lower and more straight across compared to rounded. Basically it's the 714's with 716's finish and leading edge.

Is there any info out about these yet like lofts and set make ups? They are pretty irons but I think I'm liking the muscle positioning better in the 716s. I'm wanting to get a combo set 2-pw so if the 718 line doesn't includ a CB 2 iron I need to hurry up and order a 716cb 2!

Nice summary; do you feel the 714s had a sharper leading edge?

I think I like the looks of the 716 CB better.... I think it's because they remind me of the 990 from years ago. The 990 was a great iron..the double curved lines in the cavity remind me. I just don't know about the frosted look in the cavity of the 718. I haven't seen them in person, but I generally don't care for frosted look on irons.

Cosmetically I don't see the difference between the 716 and 718 series but I think that's a good thing. The 716 CB and MB is imho the best looking iron I've ever seen. However the CG looks like it is drastically lowered in the 718 line. I'm not sure that is a good thing since I recall reading that the one big complaint of the 716 CB was that it launched to high. I would love to see these side by side to compare. I'm going to make the switch at some point before next season to a CB MB combo set 2-pw. I may just go with the 716s because I have no patience! Ha!
